I would like to build a Paulsons Pharaoh's set that would serve me as a cash and also as a tournament set. What breakdown per denomination would you recommend?

Stakes / how many people / how much cash does the bank need to cover?

Welcome to the forum!

I will say, you’ll find a lot of people here with the opinion that you should use separate chips for tournaments and cash games. There are logistical reasons (like the breakdown of each denomination) and also security reasons, the last thing you want is a tournament chip to be “accidentally” cashed in.

Stakes would be 0.25/0.5 to 1/2, for 4-6 people, last question i dont really undrstand. Thank you a lot for your answer.

I will only be playing amongst close friends thats why I am okay for having same set for both playstyles.

With that info in mind, you can build a set comfortably or conservately.

For 6 people for cash you’ll want something like:

0.25 x 200 chips
1.00 x 200 chips
5.00 x 100 chips
25.00 x 75 chips
100.00 x 25 chips

The total “bank” meaning how much money you can have on the table in chips is a little over 5K, which should be more than enough for any 0.25/0.50 game or even a 6 handed 1/2 game. If you’re playing more 1/2 than .25/.50 then maybe shift some of those quarters to 5.00 chips.

I’m not as familiar with the breakdown for a T1 (smallest chip in the tournament=1, Versus a T25 or T100 setup) but I imagine this could work with $250 starting stacks

Get a tourney set that doesn’t have the $ on the chips. 25,100, 500 works if you imagine a decimal or say it’s in pennys.

Down the road you can always get a proper cash set.

Going for a pream-o Paulson set is like running a Tri when you should be in a 5K. I’d consider a cheaper set.
