Planning on buying a 300 chip nine dragons set. only using it for a single table 5k starting stacks rebuy tourney. i might have some crazy rebuy tourneys with these so im expecting 40 rebuys maybe more.

starting stacks of 8/8/2/3

i have a couple of breakdowns im thinking about.

100/100/20/60/20
80/80/20/60/60
80/80/20/80/40
80/80/20/100/20

i guess im looking for advice on should i get more 5k's or 1k's. would i have enough 1K's if i got all 5K's for rebuys?

thanks in advance

ps im looking to keep full barrels.

The minimum number of chips you need (assuming ten players, 8/8/2/3 stacks, and 40xT5000 rebuys):

80 x T25
80 x T100
20 x T500
40 x T1000 (includes 10x for color-up of T25/T100 chips)
40 x T5000 (40 x T5K re-buys)
-------
260 total chips. To bump those numbers up to 300 chips, I'd start with at least two spares of every denomination (10 chips total). That leaves 30 chips to spread around where most useful (likely T5000 chips, but read further to see why).

If you later decided to play deeper with T10000 stacks, you'd probably want the following for starting stacks:

8 x T25
8 x T100
2 x T500
3 x T1000
1 x T5000
-------
22 chips = T10000

or

80 x T25
80 x T100
20 x T500
40 x T1000
10 x T5000
-------
230 total chips in the set, not counting re-buys. Adding the 10 spares (two per denom, highly recommended), leaves 60 chips short of 300. Making them all T5000 gives you up to 30 x T10K re-buys, and also enough chips to actually run a single-table super-deep T40K stack freeze-out (8/8/2/3/7 stacks).

Most flexible additions would be to add the 10 spares and the rest T5000 chips, giving you this breakdown:

82 x T25
82 x T100
22 x T500
42 x T1000
72 x T5000
---------
300 total chips. If you want to store the 10 spares separately and still have 300 chips in full barrels, just bump the T5000 count up to 80. But get the spares, either way. You may never need them, but if you ever do, you'll sure wish you had them. And unless you do race-off color-ups, you're probably gonna need some extra T100 and T500 denominations anyway.

thanks BG

i knew you would have the answer.

i'll def get the 10 extras and store them separately.

Jumping on this advise. I'm going camping in a couple weeks and was wondering what and how much to take. sounds like I will do this 5k tourney. Thank you...
