Cash Game .25/.50 Game Chip Denominations (1 Viewer)

Been hosting these limits for 3 years.

0.25 - 200
1 -300
5 - 200
20/25 - 20

Been great for $60max buyin games.

Initially I start buyins at 12/12/3-9 ($0.25/1/5)

Setup a few racks of 8/8/4 (20 chips) for $30 rebuys.

Always ensures change for everyone. Rarely delays due to people needing change.

There is no right answer to "the perfect breakdown", because it also depends on how your group plays. Some love tons of fracs. Some love tons of $5s. It's all okay, EXCEPT...

...when it comes to your chip budget. When your average chip cost reaches into the $3-8 range or beyond, then getting to have these chip stacks, towers, and racks on the table will seriously hurt you financially. This is why it all comes back down to the tried-and-true 600 chip 100-200-200-100 (or 100-200-200-80-20) breakdown, because it's efficient, has a big enough bank, can keep your costs reasonable, and might even be easier to procure.

Welcome to the forum! There are a ton of threads on this exact question—the search function is your friend. But, as to your question…
600 Chip set break down for 25/50c stake

25c x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200
$25 x 100 OR $25 x 80 + $100 x 20
100 $0.25
200 $1
300-400 $5
80 $25
20 $100
This is exactly right. Want to future-proof it a bit more? Get 800.

Cash...two rules of thumb:
1. 100 x 25¢ is plenty for a single table, and
2. Always get spares (at least 5-10) of every denom in case of Murphy.

This guy keeps getting it right, and I hear he’s a hell of a fella:

Or ignore him and go with this guy’s advice...he’s wicked smaht and good-looking to boot:

600 Chip set break down for 25/50c stake

25c x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200
$25 x 100 OR $25 x 80 + $100 x 20
This is the best breakdown, I don’t put in more than 60 quarters in my .25/.5 PLO games, just got my CPCs and I only ordered 60 + samples

Here is what I run off of on three sets:

60 .25
200 x1
200 x5
60 x 20
20 x 100

Nice! As a new guy looking to purchase a few hundred chips for a .25/.50 cash game, this kind of chip bank is what I’m looking for. Do you ever need more quarters?

Never!

My starting stacks are 12 × .25, 17 × 1, 16 × 5. This is enough quarters and ones on the table for the entire evening. I use fives for tennis until they are gone. Then I move to the rebuy chip.
