2026- New Mold Ideas (24 Viewers)

I know others like ever larger labels, but I think the Roman looks better with a 7/8" label and wide outer and inner rings. Would that also help make it less slippery?
More surface area always means less slippery, yes. But suspect we would just recenter and grow the inside portion and nullify most of that gain. The roman mold on clay is lovely, sure, but only really feasible IMO because of clay's grip.

Main concern is how much recessed area there is. I could do the measurements/math, but suspect there is more than the sun mold and therefore this would become the most slippery mold.

Edit: Confirming - "Roman" would have ~ 9% more recessed area vs Sun.
Definitely where my head is at as well

Same size as CHC and they aren't any more slippery web mold. They shuffle and attach great.

What about a booby mold?

Would complement the king’s castle inlay perfectly!

There is something substantially different in the Web Mold vs. the others. It feels much less slippery than the Greek, Jester, or others. I'm not sure if it's a maximized surface area or if the edges are molded differently, but if you can find what that is and mimic it, then you should do so.

It's my theory that the hybrids with an outer ring tend to me more slippery than those without one. Ceramics generally touch on the outer edge of the faces and not the centers, so any ring near those edges tends to disrupt the friction between the chips. That's why the web mold, plain and hat/cane hybrids seem to be grippier than the others.
