Just a friendly reminder that the 2024 CCA Chip Convention in Las Vegas is 13-15 June. If you don't like eBay this will be the best place to find chips.

I know it’s easier said than done, but IMO this needs to be moved to the strip. The SP is just so far away. The strip would be better for walk-ins and potential new collectors who aren’t going to travel to the SP.

Better advertising is also needed. Just my 2c

So cost is the issue but I will let forward your concern to the Board of Directors. We are working on better advertisements this year. We got a couple thing that we are working on right now. Getting the word out early and often will be just the start. Lots to do.

having it at South Point is just a good opportunity to get some casino chips and then stop by the Total Wine just north of it on the way back to the hotel on the strip!

I’ll be there. It’s the onetime a year I get to hang out with @41Pickup and see lots of other PCF’ers.

I’m trying to wait until airfare becomes more affordable to book a flight, but it doesn’t look like it’s dropping anytime soon.

Will be staying at the Horseshoe on the strip, if anybody wants to get together for a drink.

Hi, everyone. For those of you who have not yet booked a room at the South Point and/or registered for the convention and/or bought your banquet tickets, this link will take you directly to the page with all of the info needed: Deadline is 21 May for the discount.

If you have difficulty with anything, let a board member know or reply here and I'll get you the help and answers you need.

A quick plug for staying at the South Point... I don't care if you have comps or find better prices elsewhere. If you do NOT stay at the SP during the convention, it hurts the club and can jeopardize our ability to negotiate favorable rates for the convention floor, the union workers fees, and more. Consider the cost to drive to the SP from your cheaper/free hotel. Consider how much earlier you have to get up to drive over. Consider the Uber/lyft fees. Instead of all that hassle, just change out of your jammie's upstairs and wander down to the show floor with your eyes half closed. Grab a coffee and get ready to buy all the chips that the dealers have (bring your wallet or PayPal ID). In addition to the convenience, the food at all of the restaurants is top notch, so you don't have to travel around town to eat. Plus, you get a coupon book with freebies and discounts. If nothing I just said can convince you to drop your other reservation and stay at the South Point, maybe other people can add something that I overlooked.
