This is an ad for 100+ chips on the circle-square mold. The base color is a gray of some sort, but is darker than the gray and lighter than the charcoal colors found in CPC’s current color palate. The edge spots are four in number, are an unusual 3/8” in size, and appear to be CPC Red in color. These do not show brass flakes on the edges as typical for the ASM era chips on this mold.
I’m offering these dirt cheap, because there’s a catch…
These chips are warped. There are 159 chips total. After sorting them for a bit, I’ve pulled out 102 more-or-less serviceable chips as shown in the photos. These 102 chips stack into stable enough barrels that are slightly wobbly, and these better chips in the lot still have minor warping such that they only fit 47 into a 50-chip row as shown. Somebody must have stored these in a hot garage for a while. It’s a shame, really, because these chips are otherwise quite minty fresh; cross hatching is good, edges are sharp, and the hotstamps are excellent. The other 57 chips (not shown) are either so warped they’re basically useless, or warped enough to be spinners, destabilize barrel stacks, etc. You will receive the “bad” chips too, which will come sorted into a separate bag in case you want to try them out and see if I’m a little off on my quality control efforts.
I drove 15 minutes and paid $20 for these, and they were cheap for a reason. I shall offer them at the same price…
Price: $20 for the chips + $13 shipping in a USPS small flat rate box.
