Assuming these chip counts:

• 100 x $0.25
• 200 x $1
• 200 x $5
• 75 x $25
• 25 x $100

What would the optimal chip breakdown be for a $0.25/$0.50 and $0.50/$1 game (assume 100 BB and 8 players).

For starting stacks, this always works for me:

12x $0.25
17x $1
Xx $5 (6x for .25/.50, 16x for .50/1)

The fracs and ones here give at least $20 starting chips, and add however many $5's on top above $20. Should be plenty of $1s and $5s for a full 10-person table.

Works well for .25/.25 up to .50/1 (that latter I instead would prefer 1/1 and get fracs off the table).
