What am I doing wrong? Home game help.

Thanks! I bookmarked this for when the Matsuis arrive. I mostly built my set as a two table T20k setup but got just over a rack of 5s to be able to work them in with an occasional single table T2k tourney. Your suggestions above are much appreciated.

Matsui cash set -- Emerald Bay Club

I now find myself torn between a cash set (which could be used as a T.25-base tourney set), or just a full-blown tourney set: 25c, $1, $5, $20, $100 VS T25, T100, T500, T1000, T5000 What happened to this cool square-edge design, anyways?

    Leaded chips, you like?

And I'd be very comcerned about the labels pulling off the original inlays when removed -- those are older chips with likely water exposure during the hurricane, and not mint chips in pristine condition. Damage potential is real. I sold my $1s after having second thoughts about re-labelling...

Tourney Opinion Request: What minimum chip denom do you prefer playing with in a tourney chip set?

Anything works, really. T.25-base, T1-base, T5-base, T25-base, T100-base, T500-base, T1000-base, or even T5000-base (or higher, although I haven't personally seen any sets higher than that). They all have advantages and disadvantages. T25 is most common, T.25 is most efficient (imo), T1 and...

Need recommendation for custom chips for random game?

I agree with this chip breakdown...I think novice players appreciate having chip denominations, and having extra no-denom chips could cover any fracs, if necessary. Also, if price is a big factor, I'd say used ceramics or slugged plastic. Plenty of ceramic options in the PCF Classifieds...

Cash Game Breakdown for cash & tournament NLHE 6 x players

To avoid the needless and confusing use of a numbered denomination as something else, I added a .05 chip and eliminated the unnecessary 25 and 100 denominations. Eight player games -- cash or tournament -- do not need more than four denominations. 8-player T.05-base tourney set (10/10/12 = T15...

Sold Tunica Roadhouse 380pc cash chips with STT breakdown

I recently hopped onto the PNY train for my single table tournament set, so these have to go. Up for sale today are 380 Tunica Roadhouse RHC cash chips. The set was purchased in May from Jim's Roadhouse sale, and has been lovingly hand cleaned and oiled upon arrival to Finland. Unfortunately...

I can't stand that plain Jane square-edge spot pattern  :ROFLMAO:

Tourney Absolute minimum number of chips for a single table tourney game

Issuing just four or five chips per player of the lowest denomination plays pretty horribly. Minimum 8 per player, 10 is better, 12 would be preferred -- and generally applies to the TWO lowest denominations in play, not just the lowest. The lowest-denom chips will see play for anywhere from 4...

Tourney Opinion Request: What minimum chip denom do you prefer playing with in a tourney chip set?

Agreed, i did a T1Million that has same exact structure as my T10K just to use the diff color chips. At the end of the day was fine for a change now and then but T10K is still king for me.

Need recommendation for custom chips for random game?

    I'd go with five chips: 1, 5, 25, 100, and no-denom. Can be used as-is for no-value tourney chips (T.25 / T1 / T5 / T25 / T100 / T500), as dollars for cash chips (25c / $1 / $5 / $25 / $100), or as pennies for cash chips (1c / 5c / 25c / $1.00 / $5), with options on where you use the...

Sold Jack Detroit Primary and Secondary Early Sale thread - SOLD OUT

I would love to put together a 2 table T-25 base tournament set. Assuming I am able to get any chips at all, I will not have enough $1000 chips. In an attempt to jump the queue of folks pandering for high denomination chips, I am putting out there that, although I prefer to part with cash or...

Newbie thread - looking for a solid set for weekend poker nights

Ok I learned this the fun way - pokersoup blind calculator SUCKS! I do a 200BB Bounty tournament off of a T-5 base so it wasn't hard to modify my normal structure for your use. Don't worry about blinds ending before the button makes it all the way around. This structure without breaks will...

Tourney Is there a benefit to 25/50 starting blinds?

    Just for my curiosity, what issues have you observed with T5 structures ? Personnaly I like this format: T2000 5-10 5-15 10-20 15-30 20-40 25-50 30-60 40-80 50-100 60-120 75-150 100-200 125-250 150-300 200-400 250-500 300-600 400-800 500-1000 ... Or other variations like T1K with starting...

    The Great Faux Clay Adventure

Some background (Skip if you don’t care): I joined this forum back in October as I was planning to start up a poker game and immediately caught the chip bug. All of a sudden the dice chips I was playing with were inadequate. Had to upgrade and purchased a set of used ceramics off the...

Tourney Ideal chip set for up to 16 person tournament

The T-5 would not be used for any of the lager stack tournaments. My thoughts were pretty close to your breakdown. I kept getting tripped up on the 100 and 500 quantities. The set I just ordered was 160 T-5 160 T-25 160 T-100 80 T-500 160 T-1,000 60 T-5,000 I was thinking I ordered to...

    His Rule, not mine

Yeah, I get it, and if it were a @CPC set, that was near perfect..., but didnt quadruple+ in value the minute the boxes land.... the designer would probably be lighthanded like that, but when the commissioner is looking at a profit that rivals what most people make in a year... I would cover my...

Help me pick the direction to take my Parker's set

...yellow 1500 chips, works great as a dual-purpose limit set and micro-stakes set. Can even spread 25c/50c or 50c/$1 NL if desired. Even works as a single-table T.05-base or two-table T.25-base tourney set. But it all starts with those relabeled yellow fives. :) I'll let you work out the...
