    Oiling Chips Done Right

I spent 3 hours the other night oiling my new 44mm set. The previous owner bought them in 2008 and only played with them in one tournament. They then sat in a closet for 17 years. When I receive them, they were in near mint condition, but were very dry. I applied oil to the edges of the barrels...

    Best way to oil chips?

A few drops of mineral oil on th corner of a cloth will do. Grab a barrel of chips and wipe a thin film on just the edges. Then wipe off each chip with a different cloth, while wiping the faces as well. Simple. No need to get into all that "compression" BS, or leaving them out to "dry". After a...

    Oiling Chips Done Right

With CC I have both washed and oiled and oiled without washing. I have noticed no difference with the end result. The ones I washed first, I allowed to dry completely before oiling. Some have had success with the "oil-and-water dunk", so I suspect that they don't need to be dry, but unless you...

    Best way to oil chips?

I have never owned Majesics, so I can't say what might be "correct". A quick search brought up a couple threads that have more info: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/clay-10g-chip-sets.83408/#post-1706851...

Oiled my chips - now they are slippery

Firstly, mineral oil doesn’t evaporate. At least, the amount is negligible. So with Paulson, CPC etc clays, leaving them out to “dry” is really not evaporation, but absorption. With a chip like China clay, I don’t think absorption is what is happening. The change you see is more scattering of...

Just got done relabeling the first batch. Should I oil them?

Clean and oil! They don’t take to cleaning and oiling like a clay chip but they do come out VERY nice. An awesome thread down below. Oiling Chips Done Right

    Chip Oil/Sanding Paper Recommendations

My TLDR; Don’t sand any chip. Don’t use magic eraser on plastic and ceramic chips, rather clean with wet paper towel gently. Don’t scrub chip inlay with magic eraser, only scrub clay portion. Up to you to oil.

    Oiling Chips Done Right

Totally agree. You can oil the barrel by letting them in a rack. No need to hold‘em together. For me the easiest way. And as you said - same result and chips are ready to play after wipe off. No blankets full of oily chips…!!

    Pharaoh's chips in 2025?

My first set was cc pharaohs. If you have the patience, you can take a damp cloth and simply rub off the manufacturing dust. Others here will suggest using a little mineral oil (I’ve done that too but imo not necessary and since they’re plastic you end up wiping it all off vs the chip absorbing...

The Official "Show us your Rancho Agave's" Thread

I decided to oil a barrel of those $50s very slightly and imo, or better said, to me, I think it’s worth it. Most of the mint Paulson chips don’t need any oiling imo but I feel some colors might improve a bit with it. Obviously, not required as play will do that with time naturally. The $25...

    Poker chips ceramic cleaning necessary?

...clean the dust off with water and a rag, let them dry and then oil the entire chip, including faces, by hand. Lots of differing opinions on chip oiling and methods, here is a thread full of them: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/oiling-chips-done-right.14343/ Not sure what you mean...

Compression. Grab a barrel of chips. While holding the stack, oil the edges with a cloth. Then wipe off each chip with a separate cloth. Same result…and you’ll have a lot more of your life back.

How to oil Outlaw chips [HELP]

Hey all! First post here, I just got myself roughly 600 outlaw chips as my first higher-quality chips, and I love them! My only small gripe is just how dusty and grey they look around the edges and wanted to make them pop more like the main part of the chip and how I see others doing it. My...

    Chip Oil/Sanding Paper Recommendations

This is the mineral oil I use off of Amazon.
