UPDATE:

I am now only in need of 14-34 more to finish of a barrel and/or rack..
My only real requirement on condition is that they do not have any issues with the inlay laminate wrinkling/bubbling/peeling.
Will take small lots, or even individual chips -if necessary.
We're almost there!!!

.......................................................

It seems that with a (very) recent acquisition, I am now on the hunt for a rack of Tropicana v2 $1s.
I'd prefer to obtain them in as few lots as possible, but willing to consider even one at a time, if absolutely necessary.

Any help would be absolutely wonderful and would certainly be the icing on my Christmas cake!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

I believe they are V2.... Please correct me if I'm mistaken. I'd prefer to obtain them in as few lots as possible, but willing to consider even one at a time, if absolutely necessary.

It sounds like we might need to welcome you to the Tropicana family. Pics of what you are working on!

I might be able to help you out with some of these

Thank you very much @David O !
Well, being that they aren’t yet in my hands, the best I can do is steal the pics from the seller (I assume, and hope the use is cool)
I had been drooling over them for a loooong time!!
It’s a pretty good start for my little game:

That is a nice start!

Here is a few pics of my start

Very cool quest. One of my favorite sets. How are the labels on the ones? Many bubbles or no?

I think I am up to over 4 racks and I am pretty sure at least 120 of them have some sort of lnlay issue.

I am also of the belief that most of the inlay problems are from collectors cleaning them. The moisture gets under the inlay and weakens the glue on the Tropicana chips. I noticed that some of my first ones that had issues the top layer of the laminate actually came off. They are still great chips and one of my favorites, right alongside of my Flamingo 1's

Let me clean up the drool before responding. :p

I have 24 that have issues, and 87 with no problems... so far!

Currently, I’ll take darn near anything...
Hoping to eventually get to 200 issue free, though I expect that feat to take a LONG time...

it seems an average of 25% of the ones are bubbled. I haven't seen another denom with that issue but would like to know if someone has. A run of defective labels/glue, dusty chips prior to or extreme curing environment. Then the cleaning affected them after. Possibly the bottom rows of boxes in a flooded storage area gone bad.
or maybe it's as simple as bad daytime hooker's one summer.

I’ve not run into any other denom with this prob either... pretty close to convinced that it is either a manufacturer defect, or that somebody had an awful lot of $1s and stored them in some wacky way...

Regardless, at this point I just want to get the set playable, so I’ll take “good ones” or “bad ones”. I can weed out bad ones later ;)

I am supposed to move in about 3 weeks to my new home. That is when I will see what I have for you so do not lose hope.
