Should I re-label Horseshoe Gardena’s? (1 Viewer)

Been thinking about what to do with this set. I want 50’s, 100’s, 1000’s, and 5000’s for my cash game. I’m thinking about re-labeling/murdering these.

Either:
Keep 50 as 50
100 as 100
Find a 1000 to relabel. I like that HG 10. Maybe find this chip amongst all the fantasy sets and do a relabel for 1000’s?
25 as the 5000.

My two workhorse are the 100 and 1000. My two favorite chips are the 50 and 100. So I was also thinking:
1 - murder as the 50
100 as the 100
50 - murder as the 1000
25 - murder as the 5000

What do you guys think?

I'd have no qualms about murdering the $50, because that's an odd denom. But that's it, even I woulsnt touch the rest and I'm a known chip killer .

I know that you've previously indicated that you think boat or btp chips shouldn't be murdered, but It's far more of a crime to murder these $25s and $1s than it is any boat chips.

That’s probably a great option too. I love the color/spots of the 50. The problem is there aren’t many of those on the table usually. 100’s and 1000’s are on the table. But yeah I can try and think of something with the boat chips... hmmm...

Don’t forget the SB chips. Any of the 43mm chips would make a great 1000. Or the frac, $1, $20 would work well too.

These are a beautiful thing. Why mess with it?dont think these are original? I remember the the Gardena Horseshoe, El Dorado, and the Normandie back in the day. Always played at the Normandie for some reason.

Finding more of the 10s shouldnt be too hard. They are the same as a few other fantasy chip 1ks.

If I was going to relabel any of them I think I would do the 2s, 10s, and 50s. These are pretty much useless denoms and would likley be relabeled anyway if someone was going to use them in a set.

The 50 is an awsome chip, probably my favorite in the line up also followed closely by the 100s. The 25 is a great chip also. They would make great 5ks, but it would also be a bit of a shame to murder them. In the end though they are your chips and you should do with them what you want. If you like a certain lineup and are not worried about resale value of the chips just make the set how you want it. I will say though that real textured and shaped inlays from paulson are nicer than any replacement that you might do.

As I understand it the chips with the shaped inlays were meant for the casino. The chips with the round inlays were made later for sale to the public. Not sure about the 1s though they might have always had round inlays.

That's my understanding as well. So I say don't think twice about personalizing these.

1 - murder as the 50
100 as the 100
50 - murder as the 1000
25 - murder as the 5000

I think that's a good option in the OP.

Another possibility is:
Fuscia 50 as the 50
White 100 as the 100
Blue -1 murder as the 1000
Gray 25 - murder as the 5000

It'll give you alternating odd and even spots, plus be the easiest since the 50 and 100 are untouched and you just have to relabel 2 denoms.

Yeah those three are all such high contrast chips, that they work in all combinations. It also depends on your playing surface, if it is light, then you could go with more brown, if it is dark, then the mexican rose will pop.
