I won’t do this set justice because I only have one barrel of $10s and I don’t have any $1s...
But I guess I will do my best to start one!
The bar will be low compared to @Changster ‘s images of 3000 mint chips!!

I've never had a single WTHC chip in my collection actually.

And I've never had any set with 3000 chips either... I wish I did! A 3000 chip hoard of ESPT's would be sick.

Pretty sure he’s talking about Paulson Classics, not WTHC. The thread title is a little confusing.

I could be wrong though.

I was exaggerating a bit but I remember seeing your pictures once - You had stacks of chips at least 2 barrels high and your sets were still massive
If I stack my set like that.. I’ll have about 5 stacks in the picture!!

Sorry for the confusion - I didn’t realize these were called classics until I joined PCF..
These were always Top Hat and Canes in my memory - I just don’t know what’s real anymore!!

Going by the pics you have posted in the gallery section, you’re looking for pron of the Classics.

These are the WTHC(World Top Hat and Cane) chips

Wooo!!!
Man - I love these chips
Pictures really don’t do the $25 justice - Those pinks really pop and the greens are just right

I agree that the colours look fantastic!

However, the Paulson house mold is a bit of an eyesore, and the inlays aren't exactly exciting (though colourful).
I actually had a conversation with my girlfriend about this because she was the worst critic when I was trying to buy a set.
She made a good point that the classics leave a more serious impression than some of the other ‘theme’ inlays.
She was saying - If you play with people from work or guys like [my dad] it’s better that we have a serious set..
I felt like that was useful feedback from her because she doesn’t see what we see.. to her, these are like curtains or home furniture or something..

A vast improvement would have been simple: instead of "PAULSON CHIPS" on the rim, it should just have said "PAULSON". A nicer font would have helped as well. A consistent inlay background colour would also tie the whole thing together.

I agree. But they do feel fantastic to handle :) and the spots really pop. My picture was a really poor representation of the colors. I was thinking of putting them on the classifieds, but there are so many amazing chips on the market right now at great prices. Also they are the only Paulson cash chips I own so I would definitely need to replace them with another Paulson set
I never really thought about the 5k chips because I mainly like to play cash games. Truth is, the $25 would rarely see felt in my games :( They are sooo pretty...

My girlfriend was just at the farmers market and ran into some friends. They asked about me, and she said, ‘he’s upstairs taking pictures of chips for his friends.’ So normal for me; but at the same time, what the hell is he doing?

I have no problem with the colours. In fact, I think they are fantastic, and is the greatest strength of the chips series. But, and my opinion only, the colours themselves cannot carry the chip and make me overlook the previously stated "deficiencies". No question, I would take these over just about any plastic, china clay, or ceramic(-hybrid), but even the other Paulson fantasy chips are superior in almost every aspect.

I can concede that I would prefer the suit mold over the Paulson Chips mold, but I cant say that I’d be willing to trade them for an RHC set..
I also think I’ve developed a bias in favor of the inlay, when compared to the CDI or Pharaoh setup.. But I can concede that the WTHC inlay shapes are more fun..
I don’t know allforcharity, I think the classic inlay is pretty awesome. The small text that circles the denomination feels very official, like ‘this isn’t just for fun this is for keeps’ kind of play. And the colored inlays compliment the chip colors in a really comfortable way - not just a standard white or black.. the top hat cane logo in the background of the inlay looks really nice too - sort of like a UV activated mark, but not overpowering..
I’m openly biased but, to me, these chips are the real McCoy

We all like what we like. I am a CDI guy myself, but I really like the Classics as well. @allforcharity has a bit of distaste for anything on the Paulson Chips mold... as do many other serious chippers in this forum. And I can't disagree with the fact that the THC mold is superior... but you've also got to stay true to yourself. If these are the chips that got you into chipping, and they still have a place in your heart, then who cares what other people think? But FWIW, I think they're beautiful! So good luck building your set.
