I wanted to share some pr0n of these gorgeous Key West chips, roulettes, cards, cut cards, and dealer buttons. I bought this medium sized 500 chip tourney set months ago. Shortly thereafter, I bought a small heads-up cash set (not in the photos) as a present for my brother. Apologies to Dennis for the ridiculous amount of time it took me to post these photos!

Following common wisdom, I did oil the edges of these ASM chips. Not following common wisdom, I also lightly oiled the faces. Looking at a single oiled vs. un-oiled chip face, you don't see a big difference (hence the common wisdom to not bother oiling ASM faces). However, I found that oiling the faces made a noticeable difference when looking at a splashed pot of oiled vs. un-oiled chips on the table. I know that doesn't seem to make sense, but that's what I saw!

Anyway, on to the pr0n. Note that each photo is roughly a little under 3 mb, so I elected to post these as links rather than embedded images so that the page wouldn't take a long time to load.

"Poker Hands Ranking" (great for newbies), the "Bikini Sunburn" $2.50, and the "Black Rum & Lime" hundos:

The "Black Rum & Lime" hundos and the "Gold Margarita" $1k chips:

The "Key West Sunset" $500, "Coconut" $5k, and "Beach Ball" $25k:

The cards (love the J5 Ace of spades):

And to answer the obvious question... No, I have no idea what possessed me to place the $1k chips to the left of the $500 chips. That was a rather serious pr0nogr@phic faux-pas!

Many thanks to Dennis for the gorgeous chips and fantastic service. I can't wait to see the new "version 2" $1 chip come to life at Classic Poker Chips with Jim B. at the helm.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice Ski! You sure have a lot of chippies!

Yup, they are very nice chips indeed. And my sample set is growing on me, too.

The roulettes would make a neat non-denom solid set. I'd love to see a black roulette, but the blue roulette would do in its place. The blue and lavender are too close, colour-wise, to use in the same set.

Darn it...yet another set to start saving up for.

Thanks for sharing, a full set like we enjoy, chips, cards, cutcards, db...
A great prOn for sure !

Thanks for taking the time to post all these pics. I've always liked the Key West line of chips. Nice old school look with the 312 spots and classic inlay theme. Question: The Key West chips are produced on the "H" mold. I've heard some say there were spinner issues with the "H" mold chips. Have you run across any issues with the chips?

Actually, I only have one "playable quantity" set of chips (some so-so china clays). Everything else I have is just sample sets. It's truly AMAZING what you can do with Adobe Photoshop and a little practice with the "Clone" tool! Sample sets turn into monster cash and tourney sets like magic! :D

Agreed 100%. I thought the same thing when I saw the roulettes in person. For a cash set: Sky Blue or Yellow for quarters. Blue for $1. Pink for $5. Green for $25.

My thought:
Green 125 × T25 / $0.25
Blue 125 × T100 / $1
Sky Blue 100 ×T500 / $20
Yellow 100 × T1000 / $5
Pink 50 × T5000 / $100

Maybe someday...

They look and feel absolutely GREAT on the table on poker night.

Dennis is probably cringing a bit, but I'm going to be honest and tell you I had a few spinners. I'm also going to ask you to read on for some other facts and perspective...

Most of the Key West spinners I had weren't that bad. I was being picky by testing them on a marble countertop (hard and flat as glass). I've also received other (non-Key West) ASM spinners in molds other than the H mold. I also received a couple of Key West chips that were warped to the point of leaving a 1.5-2.0 mm gap when stacked. Knowing Dennis's ridiculous level of quality control and triplicate redundant checks, I am 100% confident that the warped chips did not leave the Key West Casino in that condition.

I'd love to hear from some folks with more experience than I, but the evidence I have seems to point to ASM chips (especially NEW ASM chips) being more susceptible to temperature and humidity changes than Paulson or BCC chips (especially when compared to USED Paulsons or BCCs).

The bottom line, though, is that Dennis takes care of EVERY single problem you have, and does it quickly. I haven't had better service from anyone. And just to ensure that statement isn't mistaken as a sign of disrespect to some other vendors I've used with great service, I'll repeat something I've said in other posts - that Jim Shaffer (The Chip Room) and Josh Shore (Apache) are also great to deal with.

Well, while you're dreaming, why not dream even bigger? (Fantasies are FREE, after all!)

Why not dream of a day in which the Key West Casino has a dedicated tourney set of solid (roulette like) chips, with the black inlays, AND denoms printed discreetly in small text on the inlay (I like keeping the big palm trees on the roulette inlay)?

Now you're back to $25 green, $100 black, $500 lavender, $1000 yellow (or orange), and what... $5000 in pink, or in grey? =)

Dennis, are you reading???

That would be great!
