Here is a rack of Paris $1s harvested off the tables and ultrasonically cleaned by me. Judge the condition for yourself, but these were the best ones that I found. I've included 4 pics of the rack (barrels turned 1/4 turn each pic) & an individual pic of a randomly selected chip from each barrel.

  1. STARTING BID: [ $200 ]
  2. Bids must be placed using numbers (no images), in whole dollars, and in minimum increments of [ $1 ]
  3. NO RESERVE. The Starting Bid of this auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
  4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  5. No bid edits or bid retractions permitted. (note: ALL edits are logged instantly)
  6. Auction will use the '5 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at [ 9:00pm, CDT, Tuesday 04/23/19 ] will win unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time - then the closing time will be within 5 minutes after the latest bid was posted. A bid at the close time is NOT a valid bid. Since seconds are not displayed on post timestamps, these examples will be used as a reference.
  7. I reserve the right to: 1) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; 2) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed.
  8. PCF (its Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  9. Shipping Terms: [ US only - please add $8 SFRB - buyer pays for insurance if desired ]
  10. Payment Terms: [ Venmo or PPFF ]

How many Paris $1s are in the homes of PCF'ers, do you think? 3000? 5000?

I think 5000 would be a good guess. I'm guessing that's a drop in the bucket, though. With 40 million visits to Vegas each year, if one in a thousand wind up coming home with one in their pocket that's 40,000 chips a year walking out the door.

So, I think I need to pause for a second.

Under shipping, I specified US only. I'm not shipping internationally. As DerberAlter is in the EU, I don't think his bid is valid. Therefore @crussader you have the high bid of $275

This is my first auction, so go easy on me. If you don't think this is appropriate, l am sorry. I'm trying to act in good faith on this.

I’m not looking to create any more auction drama, and it’s good that you are addressing potential issues before they arise, but it’s entirely possible for an international auction winner to have the chips shipped to a friend in the US to abide by auction rules. Did you ask him if he required int. Shipping before cancelling his bid?

I'm gonna guess at least double this. @pltrgyst has 1200 I believe. I have 200+ (not a brag as I know there are several other large private amounts). When I was there a few weeks ago even the worst were not in horrible shape
