This is an AUCTION for (733) Big Top Poker cash set chips.

302 x $1
302 x $5
102 x $25
22 x $100
5 x $500

Very sad to sell these chips as I invested what remains of my heart and soul in their design, but life changes have forced a decision. Chips have seen the felt half a dozen times and are in near-mint condition (see close-up shots). I've included some extras. There are very few of these sets in existence, and this is a nice breakdown for a variety of games.
  1. STARTING BID: $2000.
  2. Bids must be placed using numbers (no images) in minimum increments of $5.
  3. NO RESERVE. The Starting Bid of this auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
  4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  5. Auction will use the '5 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at 8:00pm, EDT, Sunday April 14, 2019 will win unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time - then the closing time will be within 5 minutes after the latest bid was posted. A bid at the close time is NOT a valid bid. Since seconds are not displayed on post timestamps, the following examples will be used as a reference.

Example #1: If the close time is 3:00pm, any bid at 2:56pm up to and including 2:59pm is valid and extends the auction for another 5 minutes.
Example #2: If the close time is 3:00pm, a bid at 2:55pm does not extend the auction.
Example #3: If a bid is placed at 2:56pm, the auction now closes at 3:01pm. A bid at 3:01pm is not a valid bid.
Example #4: If the close time is 3:05pm, and a bid is placed at 3:04pm, the auction now closes at 3:09pm.

  6. Edited posts will be voided. (note: ALL edits are logged instantly even if done within the small time frame before the 'last edited' message is shown)
  7. I reserve the right to: 1) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; 2) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed.
  8. PCF (it's Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  9. Shipping Terms: buyer to pay $20.00 shipping charge for USPS First Class Priority Large Flat Rate Box.
  10. Payment Terms: Payment to be made via Paypal Friends and Family, or buyer must pay all applicable Paypal fees. International PCF members must agree to pay any additional actual shipping & Paypal fees.

OP will be changed. Auction will end at 8pm EDT. Will that work? Nobody wants this to impinge on GoT S8 premiere.

This could have been a two day auction and would get you the same end result. The freakin addicts on this site check the classifieds 20x a day :p...no...definitely not me  ...But I think others do  :ROFLMAO:

That's becoming apparent to me. o_O

Did we ever determine how hot dog consumption is measured? Is it by weight or linear feet? That was discussion at one of the tables this weekend.

I wanted to keep a running count over the weekend, but @Mr Tree was concerned that doing so might cause hot dog consumption to increase exponentially given the competitive nature of the attendees. Between the prospect of running out of hot dogs, and over stressing the lone toilet in the basement, we decided it was best not to turn into a contest.

That said, I think linear feet would have been the most entertaining unit to use.

Guy's & Gal's... I'm Bowing out... I only want a rack of $25's at this point... I figured out this is not the way to get them!!! I have told @courage that if the Auction finishes @FakeNewz's bid of $4700 I would send him the $50 that I bid over, but I'm pretty sure the auction will finish higher than my bid anyway!!!
Everyone enjoy!!! Sorry to be an ass!!! Happy Monday!!! Beautiful Chips!!!!!!!

FWIW I know EXACTLY how many were bought and how many are left. Not accounting for some thrown away but I have a number!

If your going to do linear feet you have to take diameter into account.

If your going to do linear feet you have to take diameter into account.

We only had one type of hot dog at this meetup, so linear feet (in this case) would be proportional to weight (and count).

It just sounds more impressive to say I ate 7 linear feet of hot dogs this weekend as opposed to calling it just over a pound.

If retracting bids in auctions is an accepted thing now, perhaps this should be added to the auction guidelines. Technically, I’d say @FakeNewz is under no obligation at this point..

Troy, we have had nothing but righteously good chip dealing together but I have to step in and say that while (a) you are probably correct that yours wouldn't have been the final bid and (b) it is nice to offer to make good on the $50, retracting a bid mid-auction is just really not okay. (Barring some personal crisis . . . and I hope that is not the case here.)

I am of course not speaking for the seller who may have come to an understanding with you in this case but more about auctions generally on PCF.

Apologies to @courage....

As I said...I am Sorry & am not proud of it... I kind of expected a little of this... So I can take it...!!! lol... The chip auction will be successful no matter what, so quit crying... Maybe we can start a 3 strike rule... this is my second I think... I never really try and bicker with any of you guys that seem to enjoy it... I think you like the confrontation or something... but some of you guys love to ridicule people.... so I will take the jabs... I know what kind of person I am... Lol... and you know what kind of people you are... I'm sure you smile while your sleeping just dreaming who you can do it to next time... lol you tend to love these opportunities... because its always the same people with word vomit coming from their keyboards...

I have been a good member here and am pretty sure most can attest to that when dealing with me, maybe not all but most. I don't try and back hand people when they make mistakes... I try to help them make better decisions next time, isn't that the better way to handle things? Make them aware that they made a mistake and then help them to fix in the future... There are some members opinions that I could care less about... I will have to say that I have never experienced any of this from @navels before and am surprised... people are definitely allowed to state their opinions like I'm doing now, But look I get it... I did something wrong, It's my fault, I tried to do it the best way I thought possible, I have humbly apologized for it & I hope that @courage accepts my apology and if others want to take shots and it makes you feel better about yourself... Go ahead... I'm Here:tup:

Not sure what part of my post you are taking as back-handing or taking shots, but that was definitely not my intention.

Troy, my post is more about the implication of bid refractions for PCF auctions in general. Some people would perhaps want to retract a bid, but wouldn’t because they would not know if that’s allowed / what the consequences would be. The auction guidelines do not make this clear.
