Great - next you will outlaw "Animal Style" at your games. No Cigars, No 420, No Animal style. What's next?

Congrats! I know I'm in the minority but In-N-Out is well overhyped. Without Animal Style the burgers are bland and disappointing... Tasty Burger or Five Guys on the other hand....

Well you were doing fine there, until you got to Five Guys: thin crap beef, overcooked and dripping peanut oil. It’s a toss-up which is worse. (Yeah, I lived half a mile from the original Five Guys and their first two offshoots. They sucked too.)

Decent hot dogs; good french fries, until they throw them in the bag with the shitty greasy burgers, which turn the fries soggy in about 30 seconds.

Dunno Tasty Burger, but if it’s anything like Five Guys.... :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

I agree five guys is garbage. In and out is not much better.

Best burgers I have had I made at home on my charcoal grill. I'd take a good home made burger over any of them.

Well that’s a qualifier if I’ve ever heard one :p

Never had a thin or over cooked five guys burger so I don’t know what that’s like. As for the peanut oil it’s either for you or it ain’t.

In n out is half the price of five guys, and since the product is about the same, I call in n out the clear winner between the two. Given a third choice in the selection, I would likely make the third choice. :-)

I am a big fan of burgers. I've been to 5 guys exactly 1 time. That was plenty to last me a lifetime. @JWC is correct about in and out being cheaper so I guess there is that. I have tried most of the burgers that people always rave about. I am always disappointed.

Some resturants make decent burgers most fast food joints are complete garbage. I think 5 guys is one of the worst I've tried.

Burgers arnt hard to make. To make a good burger you need good quality beef and an open flame. That's about it. It also helps to not make them paper thin. And peanut oil? Lol wtf

Make thick patties, Sprinkle a little garlic salt on them, and cook them on the grill. Do that, and you really cant go wrong. Whatever you want to add for toppings afterward is up to you.

Friend of mine cooked this for me recently.
Smoked patty with Brisket and burnt ends on top with a port and plum sauce on top.

I’m looking forward to my first in-n-out experience, but I imagine it’s going to disappoint me.

I've never been to Five Guys or or In and Out. About the only place I'll get a burger from is Sidetracks in my home town. I believe they have won a national award or two for their burgers. Damn are they good.

I agree @colter ripton Keep the burger simple. I use light kosher salt and light black pepper. A hot charcoal grill is the best cooking option.

Sometimes I like my burgers with nothing on them. Sometimes I like them loaded with everything.

For sure one off spots generally trounce chains. Like I always sayin the Moe’s vs Chipotle debate, just means more of it for me :).
Are you suggesting Moe's is not a chain?

Because the last time I had it was in the food court of the CNN Center in Atlanta.

White Manna in Hackensack. Louis’ Lunch in New Haven. Motz’s or Millers Bar in Detroit. Petey’s, Corner Bistro, Burger Place, Lot2 or Shake Shack in NYC. Apple Pan, Cassells, HiHo or Pie ‘n Burger in LA. And yes, even In-n-Out on Left Coast.

Whatever quality cheeseburger you like, just hold the ketchup.

Lol no two separate lines of thought. But for the record chipotle is better and yeah I get it moes has melted cheese (sarcastic shocked and awed face). :D

I think the thing to remember is that In and Out is FAST FOOD. So it should be judged accordingly. IMO, it is one of the best fast food burgers out there. Yes, we all can make it better at home and yes, there are MUCH better burgers all over America. I usually use the same thinking with pizza. There is quality neopolitan style etc and there is delivery...I still have my favorite delivery pizza even though I love the good stuff.
