Looking for GIANT inlay Paulson $1 options... (1 Viewer)

On the serious side, I like PNYs but I dont see $1 racks posted for sale.

As well as I... but they aren't up for sale very often and way more than ~$1 per chip or so.
+ I am using the PNY $100 with the set, and don't like to repeat in mixed sets.

The beautiful Aces chip! (picture from Google).

This one gets my vote as well....although not as easily obtained since they closed the poker room

I like them... but I’m leaning towards the flamingo giants, the venetian giants, or the ones from Reno

the venetian giants

Even thought I initially suggested them, I should caveat my suggestion by mentioning that when I bought over 20 racks over the course of a weekend to cherry pick my keepers, I only came across a few dozen giant inlay chips (give or take). So just an FYI that it might take a little effort/time to collect 1-2 racks of them.

LOL...
Because of the imagery in the photograph.
The $5 [hopefully], $25, & $100 all have similar styles using photos as background instead of plain inlays.
OK...I must be on 15w brightness this afternoon, but what imagery and photograph, and what chips are you referrring to

@RowdyRawhide There are some alternative (limited edition?) $1s at Flamingo Las Vegas with giant inlays. I don't think they're that common, but I think I recall seeing some at a craps table in the Margaritaville section of the casino there a few years back, but not in the poker room, so maybe they're only commonly found at table games.

I swear someone had posted the second image that was just posted earlier, but it must have been deleted...
This is what I’m leaning towards now...

Ah. Gotcha now. I think I've seen those margaritaville ones about 5 yrs ago but I have not seen either of those in my last 3 visits to the flamingo. About 3 yrs ago I spent about 25 hrs over 4 days playing limit poker there and don't recall seeing any come out at the table. They might be out there but I wouldn't think very easy to find in quantity

Because the most beautiful set of chips ever made has giant inlays?
your opinion aside, that is fairly irrelevant
now if he said he was looking for Duy's.. that is a different story.. ;)

To be fair, what makes those chips nice is the spot combo and colors... the (IMO, silly) inlay has little to do with them being nice looking chips.
.. and they would be even nicer if you could see more of the spots and color (aka THC) - and yes I realize THC can have giant inlays, but it is rare.

^^ Exactly this. There isn't a single giant inlay chip on the planet that wouldn't look better if it ~wasn't~ a giant inlay chip. Abominations, all.

Bring out yer pitchforks, but I don't understand all of the love for the Duys. The inlay is okay I guess, some novel added value because of the personal significance. Otherwise I feel the chips are pretty bland. No vibrant colors, too much red, barely even a spec of blue and purple and no green, grey and white chip next to each other...I don't get it!!

There must be some nostalgic or historic value that is assigned to these that makes them so popular... That's the only reason I can think of for the seemingly universal love these chips get.

I'm not a huge fan of giant inlays to begin with, but I do drool over some nice PNY or Vineyard or Bahamia pron... Just can't get behind the Duys.

Consider yourself lucky that you live 3000 miles from @pltrgyst ;)

Hey, when people don't like the things I like, it means more availability for me, and lower prices! Yay!

I mean, I can't help it if so many people prefer comic books to old masters.

Dog knows, there are enough near-universally loved chip sets that I wouldn't take as gifts...

TBH... I am not even a huge fan of giant inlay Paulsons.
I just thought it would be fun to work on putting together a new set :)
I'm always looking for that next project set to work on.

Which reminds me... now that I just about have this figured out, what should I work on next?!
