If it’s less than a birdcage it’s not a complete set..... (1 Viewer)

i have 4 cash sets and 3 tournament sets and none go below 600 chips. but thats just me. you can easily do 400 chips for a single table tourney with rebuys.

my favorite set is

200 x .25c
400 x $1
400 x $5
100 x $25
40 x $100

havn't even gotten into a second barrel on the $25 yet. the people i play with tend to like having more chips. so every game is different. some people like to be chipped up quickly and have higher denominations so there really is no perfect answer. just what you like is what you should get. (y)

For full-ring cash game (NL50 .25 - .50), the breakdown below works well for me:
100 x 25c
200 x $1
200 x $5
100 x $25

For single table tournament, I've a 420 chips breakdown (for T20K 12/12/3/12/1) and 330 chips breakdown (for T20K 8/8/4/7/2).
410 chips, 10 players T20K:
120 x T25
120 x T100
30 x T500
120 x T1000
20 x T5000 (incl. 10 for color-up) --> since there are already 12 T1000 per player, I color-up with T5000
10 x Bounty

340 chips, 100 players T20K:
80 x T25
80 x T100
40 x T500
110 x T1000 (incl. 40 for color-up) --> since there are only 7 T1000 per player, I color-up with T1000 to increase their number for the mid-end game
20 x T5000
10 x Bounty

For T10K and T20K tournaments what do you do for blind structure? What time limits per level? Do you do rebuys? And how long do the games last?
I want to compare to what we do, I’m hosting so I can make the rules now and want to optimize for a single table 3 hour tourney so we can do a cash game .50-.50 or a second turbo tourney after

@StevenM I'd like to comment on something you said: "If I were to sell a set that is much smaller than this I feel like I’m doing a disservice to the community".

Being someone who seems to be in an endless loop of attempting to complete sets, I would ask that anyone who has a "small" set -- "small" being a set that is too small to really use -- If you aren't trying to complete that set, then consider putting those pieces up for sale so that people like me might be able to make their sets playable. And, it seems that if someone has a set that is too small to use, then selling it would clear up some space, give you a little spending money and help a fellow Chipster compete a set they may have been working on for years.

So, I personally don't see it as a disservice at all, I see it as a huge benefit to others.

I definitely over did it. I just joined the forum and ordered my first set. Because it was custom I thought more would be better than less. Plus, I liked the idea of being able to do more than one table thinking that this will be my only set I will have in my life  :whistling: My break down is 500/2000/500/500 $1/$5/$25/$100. I’m now looking to add .25 for smaller games with buddies that are just getting into poker.

For single table tourneys I go with a simple 500 chip set.
200-$25
200-$100
50-$500
50-$1000
Each player gets a barrel (20) $25’s & $100’s
(3) $500’s and (1) $1000 for a total of (44) chips worth $5000. The additional (20) $500’s and (40) $1000’s I use for coloring up later in the tourney.

For two table tourneys I just double the above to a 1000 chip set.
400-$25
400-$100
100-$500
100-$1000
And use the same (44) chip $5000 break down for each of the (20) players.

For our cash games, which are usually $1/$1 or $1/$2 with a $100-$300 buyin I go with a (1000) chip set, actually a (990) set. I need to buy ten more $100’s.
200-$1
650-$5
100-$25
40-$100
That will give us enough for $9,950 in chips, which by the way we’ve never come close to. Lol we average between $3k-$3.5k in our cash games.

Thanks! I’m about finalize another order from Matsui for .25 chips. They don’t have an inner ring for cents, so I’m just going to do a tournament style without the $ sign. I’m getting 200 pcs.
But right now I got my heart set on custom CPCs either in the scrown or lcrown. This time I’ll probably do 1000 $5. Might have to be a year or two from now  but I’m already starting the design process ;) probably won’t need $100 chips but it just wouldn’t feel like a complete set. Some aspects of practical have left the building a long time ago.

I've got some samples I could sell you of all their colors (cpc) and a large chunk of their molds if your interested in feeling, hearing and looking at the colors.

That would be great, I was just about to place an order. Is it the A mold color sample? I missed out on the scrown color sample. I did get mold samples, diasqr was my favorite when I got them.
