All three Detroit casinos do. And I am sure it has cost them tens of thousands of dollars to keep ordering more.
Absolutely. Especially if one can buy a rack of them for $25. I would have thought they would have a cheaper option for such a low-value chip as a quarter.

What would they use 25c chips for at the casino to need so many and be willing to keep replacing them at what would obviously be a loss?

do they get mad about harvesting? that's a killer harvest 25$ a rack sheeeeeesh id be there all day taking chips lol
So used to harvesting $1s I didn’t even compute that until 5 seconds after I read it
Wish I could harvest 25$ racks
Not sure if you're serious here, but they cost a hell of a lot more than $25 a rack to harvest. Most places you have top play pit games (pai gow mainly and some places may still use them for Black Jack)to them and they use them as a 50% payout on a $1 bet. So you typically take a loss to get them.

This is also the first time in a long time that I have seen these for sale. And never in this quantity.

^^^^^ Exactly.

There have been multiple discussions of Detroit harvesting.

Tables typically have only 30-40 quarter chips, each. Harvesting quarters is a slow and expensive process, whether you play and get them at a big loss, or stand around the tables buying them from players one or two at a time for $1 or more each, until the floor staff rousts you.

Years ago, when I was able to buy a couple racks of Greektown quarters (my favorites) at $2 a pop, I thought it was a real bargain.

I have a rack and a half of these and they're awesome, definitely my fav quarter chip out there. Every time we go to a Wings game we park at the MGM, so we usually pop in. There are very few tables on the floor that have quarters, so however you got these, it's an amazing score especially in this quantity. Well done! Whoever buys these, will not be disappointed. LGRW and GLWS!

What's better than one rack?
.
$250 per rack if buying more than one.

Trivial data- only that single first edition found in all those chips.
