Canceled Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) Starter Sets. Yes, I bought out a casino. (1 Viewer)

Those who attended MinneMania got a preview, but I recently purchased all the retired chips from the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) casino in northern Wisconsin (pronounced: lah-coot-oh-ray). These LCO chips include wonderful leaded THC mold Paulsons, with shaped-inlays on the higher denominations. The chips were used in this small casino for 25 years, and are in much better shape than the non-leaded RHC formulation chips I have seen from the CIN/CLE Horseshoe buys. The MinneMania crew can also comment on the chip conditions, plus I have included pictures below. The purchase included several thousand ceramic commemorative $5 chips with awesome edge spots (pictured in the upper right), plus composite Roulette chips (shown below).

I can’t keep everything, so I’m selling n=8 “Starter Sets” in a fixed price lottery sale with the ceramic $5 chips. In these 700* chip sets, I’m including the Roulette composite chips to use as fractional chips at the stakes you prefer (e.g., fifty-centers, quarters, dimes)
  • n=100 x Roulette non-denominational composites*
  • n=200 x $1 THC chips
  • n=300 x $5 Commemorative ceramics
  • n=80 x $25 THC chips with shaped inlays
  • n=20 x $100 THC chips with shaped inlays

*The option to pick the color of the Roulettes will be based on lottery results. Any buyers of two Starter Sets get priority to select their Roulette color so their combined sets are nicely matched (as determined via separate lottery in the event of multiple two-set-buyers). For other buyers who won a color that has a second rack of the same color available (i.e., Orange, Green, Grey, Yellow, Umber), you will also have the option to add a second Roulette rack of the same color at no additional cost. The colors need to stay together, and I'll also include any extra chips I may have for each Roulette color.

Price for a set is $820 shipped CONUS, including potential additional Roulettes. I politely ask that future sales of these chips maintain similar pricing, in a “pass if forward” manner. I’ve priced these under market value, so new chippers have a chance get a nice set at favorable pricing. International buyers are welcome, provided you pay the additional shipping costs. Buyers assume all shipping risk, and insurance is available for purchase per standard USPS terms and rates. As others can confirm, I package extremely well. As with other used casino sets, some chips have rack checks that may or may not come off with cleaning. I do have additional $1s + other denominations available for buyers of these sets who are interested.

If you would like to buy a set, please post your commitment in this thread. For those looking to buy two sets, please clearly state that intent. I will draw from the all the entries to select the final buyers. Once 8 slots have been filled, I’ll leave the entry open for about a week and then do the drawing. If someone wants to buy two sets, they get purchase priority over those members looking to buy one set. Feel free to discuss chops or splits, as I can ship to multiple members for the incremental shipping cost as applicable.

I am also open to trades for interesting chips, especially but not limited to: Wynn charity event chips + Empress Star secondary tournament chips + Palais de Congress $5. If you have TRK Deadwoods, PM me! Here is a picture of two randomly selected racks of $1s:

Once these Starter Sets are gone, I will be selling sets with the THC $5 chips; however, these first Starter Sets are priced much lower than the sets that will follow as I have time, likely in CY2019. Requests for future chips should be held until that time.

I can confirm these chips are spectacular, and photos dont do the chips justice. The price of the opener sets are great, even with it having ceramic $5’s. Snag these up folks, and I agree with cheese on the suggestion that full THC sets could be offered first to those buying the initial offering? If you really want a full THC set, you’ll want the chips in the opener set anyway. Good luck with the sale.

Wow, how did i miss this? Was there an unveiling in another thread?

GLWS Forrest! Hope you use the money for some OFCP lessons.;)

I would love to get those green, maroon, yellow, and/or purple roulettes for my relabel roulette mold project.

Beautiful! GLWS!!!

Ya, if you look at it that way, the 300 leaded THC chips are under $2.75/chip (not an unreasonable price whatsoever) and you get 300 whicked $5 ceramics and 100 roulette chips absolutely free. Sounds like a screaming deal to me.

Am I the only one who went to the meetup thread and checked out pics of the chips in action?

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm really surprised no one has jumped on it yet. I just played with these this last weekend again and man are they nice.

Congrats on scoring these great looking chips, and bringing them into the community. Look forward to hearing more about it, and seeing more pics! And GLWS
