I did buy a ticket too. But only one.

I figure what's the difference in odds between 500 tickets and 1 ticket, when they are 1:2.7M (or whatever). Since you gotta be lucky, might as well be REAL lucky - and either way have $998, still in your pocket!
 
Odds are 1:302.5M, but when the payout is $1.6B on a $2 ticket, it's one of the few times that playing the lottery is actually +EV.

Don’t forget to factor in the probability of split jackpot, and you’re going to want to use the 900M cash value (you paid your ticket in 2018 cash). I think it’s still positive but really close. The non jackpot prizes which come out to 15c or so per ticket help.

They don’t even allow lottery in Hawaii? Good grief....not like you can drive to another state in 20 minutes like I can.

This begs the question, How do you get your fireworks in hawaii?

Here on the east coast there are fireworks shops at the state borders that only sell to out of staters. It’s a fantastic triumph of states rights

Yes sucks , fireworks only fountains sparklers and pop it’s are allowed which stores bring in, illegal rockets and stuff get brought in illegally, a 144ct bottle rockets can sell for 50$-65$ a small cake sells for 100$ It’s crazy

Holy crap. $100 would buy you probably several thousand bottle rockets in PA at phantom fireworks. Plus you can get Roman candles and even the real deal mortars. It has aiels like a grocery store.

I was going to spend $10 on tickets, but then decided not to and thus I have $10 in my wallet instead of nothing! Woo!

I don't think of the 20 tickets my office pooled for we made anything. I think at most we had 2 numbers on a few of the tickets but no powerball so not even a free ticket won.

We've still got 20 tickets for Powerball tonight though, guess we'll have to make do with that mini jackpot :P

Just saw this morning on Facebook one of my friends was at the casino with her friend and her friend hit 18K on a slot machine
 
Told you a winning ticket bought in AR. In for $10 cashed for $4 (wohoo) -$6 for a try at 1.6 billion. ;)

One happy camper somewhere in SC this morning. :eek:
