I am a small business owner and looking for a card that to use on a regular basis to use for business and personal. The one I have and use on a regular basis is a point based card redeemable only at the store it is from. Looking for something that offers more reward options. I don't mind paying a a yearly fee if it pays off in the long run. This card will probably be used for anywhere between 1000-3000 a month for business only alone

Thanks for any advice

First decide if you want to accumulate airline mileage or cash back. I personally have one of each for my business but mostly use the Southwest Priority card to accumulate mileage for trips. A good resource to research the different cards:

Many of the cards have attractive sign up bonuses too.

We primarily use our Citibank Double Cash credit cards since they give you 2% cash back on everything. (and no yearly fee)

From a tax accounting standpoint I'd highly recommend not having a card to use for both business and personal purposes. You really need to keep those things separate. Same with the checking account. I'm sure others will offer contrary opinions but having seen my wife go through a "routine" documentation audit for her little side business that makes less than $10k a year it's an absolute bitch when the presumption becomes this is your personal account, we need extra strong proof that these X expenses are solely for the business. Not to mention that when the business documentation you submit includes all your personal finances you're giving them information that can only hurt you.

It's way easier to just set up separate accounts (at the same bank even) and funnel everything to the right place.

Having said that I was going to recommend The Points Guy for comparison info as well. I have a Marriott card for our travels and a Bank of America cash back card (no fee) for everything else.

Living in Dallas I fly American exclusivly. So I have their branded card for miles. Third the recommendation for the points guy.

If you want to take advantage of a sign up bonus, Chase Ink Preferred and it's not close. I've built up almost 200,000 points in this first year with the card which has a ton of benefits

Wells Fargo has the new Propel AmEx that does 3% on food and gas. No fees. Depending on what constitute your business expenses, might be good fit. 30,000 signup bonus for spending $3000 in 3 months

Yep. Points Guy.

On this trip, I'm using the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus for most everything, with the Chase Sapphire Reserve as back-up.

My business card was a Capital One Venture, but that's gone into retirement now.

Get those 50K (or even 100K) bonuses while you can!

Suggestions for Points Guy.... Ugh. So much better out there.

View From the Wing is a favorite of mine, specifically, Greg as he won't post affiliate links. There is not as much spam for certain cards and he is a high quality writer.

I currently write for another travel blog so this is a niche of mine.

I'll respond to your PM to give a bit more specific feedback, but yes I would keep the business and personal stuff separate. Overall though what are your goals?

Maximum flexibility? Hotels? Any specific chain? Airlines? If airlines, which carriers are by you? US only or international? Cashback?

I think maximum flexibility would probably be optimal. I guess if you get more "bang for your Buck" with airline miles they would get used too.
Not really married to any chain or airline, I guess Southwest is typically our first choice. Hotels are whatever is best value, although we almost always do air bnb or vrbo if we are staying anywhere for any length of time.
