What is the lowest stake game you will play in? (2 Viewers)

You really discover who the degenerates are in this thread.

Anyone play for bottlecaps?

Yep, agree with nickel/dime.

NCV poker only for instructional purposes, or playing with the kids.

Freeroll T200 (T1-based) heads-up tourney with my 9-year old godson. Next summer it's not going to be free - he 'll have to learn to risk and loose.
The kid got really enthusiastic and asked his mom after that if there 's a poker course to enroll in at school this fall:)
Anyway, it seems he 's gonna need a better teacher at some point :D

It depends on why I'm playing. I'll play at very low stakes when socializing or teaching:
  • I regularly play a $15 tourney, but I'm there mainly to socialize and keep my (crappy) tourney skills from deteriorating.
  • I play cash as low as .05/.10 when playing online or in home games where players are trying to learn new games like PLO.
  • I used to let my kids freeroll me when they were younger, but none of them really caught the poker bug so we haven't played in a while.
Otherwise, I prefer to play cash from .25/.50 through 2/5. I almost never play casino tourneys, but when I do it's usually in the $50-150 range.

I've played free bar poker a few times and had fun, but it's not how I prefer to spend the limited time I have for poker.

For live NLH/PLO: $100 tournament or 0.50/.50 home cashgame.
I will play live mixed games tournaments down to $50 buy in.

I am in a similar boat as Vice. We play .10/.25 with a $20 cash buy-in here, but I would love to play a weekly .50/$1 game or even a bit higher. Guess I gotta take what I can get.

.25/.50 is usually the lowest I'll go. Or a 25 dollar tournament

I have lost all of my enthusiasm for low stake poker. I have turned down 10 to 12 $20 buy-in cash games this summer. I like playing $1/$3 at the casino, but will settle for home games that have a $60 buy-in using fracs or 100BB minimum if the blinds are $1 or above.

Tournaments: $40 if I really have the itch or like the host and players (preferably $50), otherwise I am uninterested.

My interest in low stakes games really crashed late last year. The spark hasn't come back. My profitability has gone down by 75% ytd, but I am only playing half as much. This marks the first year where I am spending more time playing tournament poker instead of cash. My time at the table has been equally divided between home games and the casino. Part of me misses the days when I was happy to sit down at a $20 home game or to play in a $25 tournament.

The care free days of playing for fun and profit has been replaced by trying to crack tougher games/tournaments at casinos.

Unless it is a mixed game with at least a $100 buy-in I don’t have any interest in playing 25/50c Hold’em.

I went on a weekend camping canoeing trip a few weeks ago with friends, most of whom I met through poker. We only played 25/50c Hold’em with a $50 max buy-in because one guy refused to play PLO or for more money because he said it is supposed to be a friendly game. Even though this guy plays $1/2 on a regular basis.

The game was so boring to me I quite playing early both nights. Anyone that knows me knows I am normally the last one to leave a game!

I just got so bored having to fold so much! With only a $50 stack and most people raising to $2.50-$3 preflop I couldn’t play any speculative hands as the implied odds weren’t there.

If the game max had been increased to $100 I could have dealt with it.

Home Tourney $25 with Mutiple re-buys
Home Cash Game $100 - $1/$2 blinds
Casino Tourney $100 buy-in - No Turbos.

For a cash game it has to be at least
100/200 dollars....
Zimbawean dollars.

This is assuming a friendly home game with people I enjoy playing with.

If its about making money then I suppose 25c/50c.
