Origin of your Username (5 Viewers)

Back in the early 90's we were a bunch of junior high kids that called ourselves the 510 skate crew for our area code. Then AOL came out so we all made screen names followed by 51o.00 Then xbox live came out and then internet forums and it has been easy to stick to one handle. So I have become Slick51o in the online world

I went to Northeastern University in the 90s and became a Die Hard NU hockey fan. I love the NY Rangers, NY Giants, and Boston Celtics, but I love my Husky Hockey over them all. I still watch a lot of their games over the Internet. My other user name I use on some sites also is YUMI which is a combination of my first and last name which is the login my Job gave me over 20 years ago to logon to the company Network.

When I was younger I had basically white hair. At some point my dad installed a CB radio in both family cars and all the kids had handles. Mine was White Tornado (I was also a bit...energetic). Well I guess I couldn't quite pronounce tornado and kept saying tomato. Whenever I had to create my first username WhiteTomato seemed pretty unique. Strangely as time has passed I found it less and less available which seems very odd. Can't figure out who else would use that!!

I’m pudgy and 63 was my HS jersey number. Was the first username I came up with when playing LAN games in college. Been using ever since.

Came up with it because my birthday is in Dec making me a Sagittarius who is known as the Archer and it's symbol is the bow and arrow.
Been using arch3r online for like 20 years now. The 3 for the e is just so cool ( or at least it was when I came up with it).
Started out as my Quake 3 name and it's just stuck.

I’m a big video game guy, and the Far Cry Series is one of my favourites. Far Cry 5 comes out this month and I’m super stoked!

Mine is my amateur radio callsign assigned by the FCC. When this whole internet thing started taking off all these sites wanted you to have a username, and guess what?
kf4tdv has never been used on ANY site.

Back in the 90's I got into CB radio. 18' Antron 99 (aka the bleed stick) on the roof, Cobra 148 with a few mods, and a 1K linear. Then the moonrakers. LOL Safe to say my neighbors were not too happy. I tried ham radio for a while, got a Tech license and a Yaesu. Switch back to CB before the internet thing started and just faded away from the hobby after that. Was fun. Met some cool people. Some I'm still friends with today.

Mine I believe started as my twitter handle years ago (8-10). Now I use it or a similar variation on nearly every site I use. Also, it's the initials of my first and middle name "D.R", I'm not actually a doctor.

Cool. WA2QCM here, since 1959 (novice WV2QCM in 1958). Safe to say that our neighbors in a little crackerjack house on a 60-foot lot in Edison NJ weren't too happy about my 50-foot tower in the back yard!

Did moonbounce in the early sixties with Al Katz, K2UYH. Worked mainly long-distance cw and Field Days on cw. Started a ham radio station in Vietnam during the war ('69-'70), providing calls back home for my troops, mostly through Barry Goldwater's relay station in AZ and another in WA, whose name and call I've forgotten. Still have a couple of receivers,-- one is a vacuum tube Drake R4C! -- but haven't done anything with the hobby since the Internet began, other than copying a little cw now and then to keep my hand in.

Joe at PGI is also a ham of long standing. It used to be a great hobby...

Origin of screenname ... I used to work for a startup hosting facility in the late 90’s and early 00’s, I was server ops and we had a jump server to access all our customers servers. The jump server was called DeathStar ... when I setup my linux system it was nominal in comparison to the “DeathStar” ... so I threw in numbers for the vowels and resulted with “n0m1n4l” ... been using it for random accounts since ... ;-)
