Woot! 999 chips for $180, with racks. There are 514 of the darker inlay, 485 of the lighter. With regards to @CherryTree, who was also in touch with the seller :-)

Are those real inlays or labels? I don't remember there being quarters being sold with this set when the Chiproom had them for sale.

I would bet these were all raided by an employee before they were all sold to Jim.

These are the real deal. They were purchased (for 25c each) by a dealer at the casino while he was working there for his own use.

Nice! I gave up looking for those years, and years ago. They weren't even in use when the place was open. They had a sign that had a pic of all their chips that had those listed and when I asked about them, the guy told me a couple of the dealers took them home for their own games.

What are your plans for them?

I'm not sure but I'm going to start by cleaning them.

Dang, that's an awesome find!

Curious what kinds of CL searches you guys are doing to find stuff like this?

I search for "poker chips". It is mind-numbing to go through all the posts of dice chips daily. I'm starting to think there are more dice chips than there are grains of sand in the universe.

Cool - that's what I've been searching for as well...I figured it was just very few and far between to actually find something of value. The worst is when you see some dice chips or plastic junk with a unique design/edge spots and you get your hopes up (n)

I suppose you folks up north have better chances as well - not as many casinos or card rooms down here it seems.

Thanks for the heads up! I generally follow that one mega ultrasonic cleaning how-to post carefully.

I'm getting ready to clean up a set of solid ASM hot stamp customs I picked up awhile ago. Tested a small batch with "Mean Green" cleaner with a 1:4 cleaner/water ratio. Just stirring in hot water for ~2 to ~2.5 min. They definitely cleaned up, but I think there was some fading on the lighter colors (pink).

Will be curious to see how your ultrasonic testing goes. My cleaner arrives in the mail tomorrow. I'm going to pick up some Simple Green and give that a try as well with the Salad Spinner method. Keep us posted.

Will let you know (in the ultrasonic thread). Should get to it next week. Will tread carefully for sure.

So true! I basically just go through Craigslist ads whenever I have a few minutes. Pretty sure if I had a nickel for every dice chip I come across in my searches, I could buy all the chips in the classified section :).

In all my searching, I've only come across one really good score. And someone tipped the guy off so I didn't even get it.

Don’t use the ultrasonic with tsp (real or fake). I recommend a soft scrub brush and regular Dawn.

TSP and Oxiclean will eat ASM chips.

Amazing score btw. Congrats.

@navels dunno if you saw in the ultrasonic thread but I cleaned up some old solid ASM CSQ chips with ultrasonic and simple green in a very diluted ratio, 1/2 cup green to 6L water. It seemed to be effective and not damaging to the chips or hot stamps. I used simple green pro hd since it's the only one I could find.
