Exactly 25 $25 chips left
Exactly 13 $5 chips left
Between 2500 and 2550 $1 chips left

Apparently a few folks have misconstrued my post earlier in this thread to mean that I landed some $500 chips, as I’ve been contacted multiple times through PM and text message.

Let me clear things up right now: I ordered one sample set of these, and that’s it.

so, can I get some 500's? ;)

So you’re saying FDLmold bought all of the $500 chips! Haha

Regrading people using multiple orders to hit your percentages.

This was never meant to be the practice. All orders were meant to be done as one order. I apologize if this practice happened in the past and we didn't notice it. We would have definitely put a stop to it. The Horseshoe sale was so massive, that frankly I didn't really have too much time to police. This time the abuse was large by a select few. Some people had a separate orders for each denomination. Handling multiple orders and processing refunds is very time consuming. I do it as a courtesy for those who decide to add on to their orders, not to benefit those who exploit the spirit of the rules. Therefore, we have decided to not refund extra shipping, this go round, for those who clearly used this formula to take an unfair advantage in the ordering process. Consider this a loss of the combined shipping benefit. I thought of refunding the orders, but I didn't clearly state you could not do it. Refunding shipping and combining orders is always done as a benefit to you, not a given. If you were just adding on, we will gladly refund your extra shipping costs and combine the orders.

I am not sure what to do on the next 2 releases. The quantities on both are smaller than the Native Lights. I hate only offering sets, as everyone's needs are different.

The next release will be announced only after the Native Lights Primary chips are completely sold out. At this time there are
$1 - 2539
$5 - 15
$25 -13

Thanks and sorry for the trouble.

Jim

It seems that there were issues with this sale format. Although it's probably easiest for Jim, just let paypal handle the inventory and payments, we see that there were race conditions, paypal issues, forgotten chip orders and the multi-order loophole. The whole process seems a bit uncivilized. Why not something like this:

1. Open a thread where people post their intended orders following whatever chip limits that are imposed. Leave it open for a specific amount of time, say a week.

2. Once that thread is closed, at a designated time, Jim posts a randomized list of the member's orders and begins to fill them. He contacts the first person via PM and they have 5 minutes to respond and make the payment via paypal. If they don't respond, or chose not to order, they lose their place and Jim moves on to the next person in the list. The person will only be allowed to purchase exactly what they said in the intended orders thread. No more, no less.

3. Once Jim hits the first order he cannot completely fill, that person can modify their order for less of any or all chip quantities of only the chip denominations they initially intended to order, or just cancel completely.

4. Then continue until all randomized orders from the thread have been addressed or the chip reserves have been depleted.

5. Any remaining chips left over once all the intended orders have been addressed go on sale at a first come first served basis.

This way, everyone interested has an equal chance of getting chips and there is not this race where the fastest internet connection wins or paypal glitches or missed chips being ordered or multi-order exploits. Now I realize this is probably much more work on Jim's part, probably a few hours dealing with all the intended orders, but seems to me to be a much fairer way, giving everyone an equal chance of being first in line to get their order filled. We run auctions and raffles on this site weekly without incident. This does not seem to be any more difficult or challenging, and like I said, it seems to me to be much more fair and civilized.

The only potential downside I can see, besides Jim's time commitment, is collusion between members. Consider 4 people each want a 500 chip set. They get together and each submit they intend to purchase 2000 chips. This gives them 4 chances to be high up on the randomized list. Once the first order is fulfilled, the other three just decline their option to purchase when Jim contacts them. Not sure how you protect against that, but someone might be able to figure out how? Now I considered not explaining this exploit, for fear of giving people the idea of how to work the system, but your guys are smart and I'm sure many would have figured it out. So at least everyone understands this issue and can be thinking on how to protect against it, or at least be on the lookout for it.

Now with all this said, I understand Jim is the merchant and the professional and will handle his sales how he sees fit. I am just offering up a possibility of a format that ( I think ) removes many of the complaints that I have read in this thread.
So, good idea? Bad idea?

I understand your idea, but that is way too much work on our side. We would have to send invoices to each person and track all of the order requests.

Are we going to wait until ALL chips from all sets are sold before any sort of total numbers become available? :)

On vacation @ Mt. Vernon so needless to say internet was crap and didn't even have a chance to realize a sample set was offered. Anybody have an extra one they want to get rid of PM me. Thanks!

Jim,

I'm not suggesting you send out invoices at all. Just PM the members on the list in order with the super secret paypal link and they have 5 minutes to complete their intended order. If the proper order is received in the time limit, great, move on to the next person on the list. If they delay or if they try and order other than they indicated they would or are allowed to (once chip reserves begin to deplete), transaction null and void, they lose completely for not following the rules, cancel and refund entire order and move on to the next person on the list. Now I might be talking out of my ass here since I don't really know what all takes place on your end, but I just wanted to be clear that I was not suggesting sending out any physical invoices. I picture this all taking place real time over PMs over the course of a few hours. I'm just spit balling ideas here, but you know best and I defer to your expertise. Anyway, great chips and glad I was able to grab my sample set.

So the $500s could have been cleared out within two orders.

It'll be interesting to see what the market price will end up being for these... assuming the owners want to run the risk of being banned from future sales for flipping.

Yup.... perhaps with the same guidelines as the quarters I might have got some.. now I'm SUPER STOKED to have grabbed a rack of quarters with only that many available!!!

All these sets have so few chips available that they are going to be very hard to come by.

I'm not sure I understand the loophole theory. I understand how, on the part of the buyer, that one orders the 500 denom in one order, to get the full amount, but when they do a second order thread, it's to make the percentages. I would think as long as the percentages work out, being under the 2000 total chips, the order should be ok. Sure, if the percentages don't work out, then changes need to be made, and they would have to cut numbers to make the percentages. NOW, I understand Jim's point of view too, where in fairness, everyone should place one order, and whomever the internet gods allow, they would get their chips. And sometimes you do an addon, I've done that, and Jim is kind enough to combine shipping.
I would guess there were only around 2000 or less, 500's. Five people order 2k sets with 200 of the five hundred denom, and half the inventory is gone. Knowing we have a lot of huge hoarders on this site, 10 people doing this would wipe out the inventory. I don't think I ever used the "loophole" to get the rarer denoms first, but I don't think I would have identified it as a loophole. (actually I probably have at some point in the past to get something that would sell out quicker, just can't remember)
If I was a real nut, I would have multiple accounts and shipping addresses.
