Thanks to Jim @ the chip room I was able to get my hands on the Cleveland 36mm paulson tournament set. Since there are not alot of 36mm chips out there I'm curious what everyone thinks who has played on them. I know there seems to be a desire for the oversized 43mm chips, but I must say that I love the feel of the 36mm.

First, the chips feel "thicker." I know they stack up the same, but because of the small size the feel a bit more substantial. They shuffle great.

Are there any other 36mm sets out there...besides the Cleveland and Cincinnati sets, or was this unique to those casinos?

Other than that, I'd love to hear some opinion of people who have sat at a table with 36mm chips.

Thanks!!

I have a set and really think they feel great and shuffle great. In fact, after a while you do not even notice that you are playing with a smaller chip. I am not aware of what other casinos use the 36mm but I am sure there are more.

I've played with these at Foxwoods. Without the interest in the Horseshoe chips in this forum, I would not have noticed they were smaller.

I think that they are noticeably smaller; however, they are not so much smaller that it is a detriment. I currently own a set and do like them. They are still paulson clay chips and to me are only slightly less desirable than an equivalent 39mm or higher chip. Personally I would choose a well designed 36mm chip over an ugly 39mm chip any day.

Personally I'm not a fan. Jack Cleveland uses them in their tournaments and they kinda/sorta bug me.

I've never played with these, but I bought a barrel of the cleveland buy-in chips just to play around with them. My original thought was that you'd get used to the size difference after about 10 minutes at the table. Maybe? But I didn't get used to the size difference after playing around, shuffling them for a while. They still felt small to me. And I don't like the RHC mold anyway, so same thing, only smaller? No, I never got to feel like I'd want a set of those chips.
AND I'm not a fan of inlaid solids. And I'm not a fan of dark inlays. So I won't be outbidding anybody for a set of those.
I still think it's VERY cool to own a set of WSOP chips. But those ones aren't for me.

Im loving these 36mm chips !
