Sold SATELLITE RAFFLE for The Dunes Set (6 tables filled, collecting payments) (1 Viewer)

Running a satellite raffle for those who want a shot at @bergs' epic Dunes Paulson Set.

Raffle tickets are $11/each and there will be one $110 raffle ticket awarded for every ten entries into the satellite. There is no limit to the number of entries per person, and you can take multiple seats at the same table if you like.

I will run up to four independent tables, each with 10 entries. Each table will be represented by the one of the digits in the NYS WIN 4 lottery drawing. For example, if the NYS lottery number for the specified drawing night (TBD based on timing of entries) is "4 3 7 1", then the winners will be seat 4 from table 1, seat 3 from table 2, seat 7 from table 3 and seat 1 from table 4. Hopefully that makes sense.

Given how quickly the first 40 seats sold out, I'm going to open up "B" tables. The winners will be picked in same manner as the original "A" tables, using the same drawing.​

Please post in this thread to claim your seats (please specify your desired table and seat number).

If for some reason the main raffle doesn't go off (for any reason), the winners of the satellite raffles will get the $110 instead.

Disclaimer: This satellite raffle is not directly associated with the main raffle. Winning this raffle will give you the funds to purchase a ticket from the main raffle, and you must comply with all of the rules and regulations set forth in the main raffle.

If I win these chip they are going to be right back on the market. My bankroll simply won't allow for me to keep that much $$$ tied up in one set of chips.

Or course that would be after I take selfies of me and my new chips at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, on top of the Eiffel tower, and inside the Forbidden City in Beijing.

Then unfortunately they have to go up on Craigslist where, knowing me, I will probably get half what they are worth.

Am I still allowed in the raffle?

What you do with your satellite raffle money, and ultimately the chips if you win them, is up to you. Around 8pm I'll send the 6 winners their $110/each and after that point they can do with the money as they please.

JMHO, but this gets kinda sketchy, as it becomes a unsanctioned lottery.

Just don't want anyone to get in any trouble.

If the raffle goes, start awarding the satellites. You can do multiple satellite draws in one day using lottery numbers for multiple states. If berg's raffle doesn't sell out, return $11 to everyone.

I understand your position, but as per the OP, these satellite raffles are not directly associated with the main raffle. I specified in the OP that even if the main raffle does not take place, the winner will get the $110. If the raffle does take place, it is expected that the winners use the fund to purchase a raffle ticket, but I am not going to police that either.

And to be honest, it's likely an unsanctioned lottery whether or not the prize is a $110 raffle ticket or $110 in cash. Not sure the prize itself has any bearing on the legality of the raffle. But I'm not a lawyer, nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

If I won, It would be $11,000. These are great chips but I'd rather have an RV that I could travel the country in.

On the other hand, I would not enter a raffle to win $11000 in cash, so go figure.
Maybe I really do just want the chips. Nobody ever said this chip-collecting-thing made any sense
