I play a lot of poker at home, but don't have much experience at a casino poker room. Can I use one of my 25K overside horseshoe chips as a card guard at a casino?

Ok cool. not sure why I doubted if I could but just wasn't sure

Yes but put it in a clear chip protector to keep it nice and safe. By the way, Do you have one of those chips that you are using as your avatar?

I do... thinking about using it too :) it is in a plastic case now... took the picture just before it went in

Thats what I understand. If I ever decide to sell... I will contact you first. Bought it At Jims sale... but sure even then I pay a pretty penny for it.

If you ever decide to get rid of it let me know! Keep good care of that 1,000,000 chip there were only 100 made

So you're saying I should protect mine better than this?

 :whistling: ;)

(To be fair, they were stacked nicely in a closet -- until my daughter put a box near them. I knocked them over moving the box.)

What size of case did you use, and where did you get it?

Sadly, there aren't a lot of coin collecting shops around here, so I'm at a bit of a loss on how to size/purchase the plastic cases.

Are you speaking of the single chip cases? I have a bunch and can send you a couple if you pay shipping. If you would rather purchse your own I can get you the site in a minute

Of course, you could let your chip be free and breathe too. You're certainly not going to get in trouble for using a naked chip as a card guard.
By the way, I never use a card protector, unless I'm sitting next to the dealer. Is there any reason why I should use one in seats 2-8?

If for any reason someone tosses cards on your cards it could cause your hand to be mucked and it is just a good idea to protect your hand at all times

I am thinking about the single chip cases. I've got a few chips I think I should protect, so I figure I should probably do it before something bad happens.

jpscorner.com is good. here's a link to the various airtites they sell: http://www.jpscorner.com/airtite-specification-charts.html

not sure how much shipping to the great white north will be....??

Thanks for the link, but I'm a little confused with the sizing for the ring-type and direct fit cases. I see the ring-type H and the direct fit H-39 have the same dimensions, but (obviously) one has the foam ring on the interior as well. If I was buying a ring-type, would I go one size larger than the corresponding direct fit to account for the ring (eg. go with an I-size ring model)?

And, to the OP, what size did you use for the 48mm $Million chip? The closest I see is an X (or X-6), but that's a little small... and the next size up is huge compared to the chip.

(And sorry for the threadjack.)

Go to this site and it shows the sizes for Casino Chips

0.24€ each shipped

Me as card guard I always use a different chips that I chosen in my collection according to my desire. To put him in a slice allows to simplify the visibility of the croupiers and other players.
