***********************************************************************************************

I took new pics & scans of The Cedar Room BCC set and wanted to share them here. (I'll add other set pics later, so that's why the thread is titled "Toad Stuff" instead of just The Cedar Room.)

The BCC version of The Cedar Room is my largest set. I wanted to make sure I had enough variety and quantity to cover pretty much any game that would ever come up as well as casino nights I used to do occasionally and which would ideally include a full craps table, someday.

The initial order was made when BCC was supposedly stopping retail orders, but then they offered retail orders again so I added some extra* denoms. (*extra might be "extraneous" in this situation and given the low stakes I play, but inflation will eventually catch up to the higher cash denoms and, hey, we're chip nuts, right? More chips = better. (y))

I love error chips. They remind me how chips are little works of art with a human element we don't see with automated or robotic processes. Within reason I'm glad when a few of them show up (not too many, mind you...:cautious:)

The wrong spot order:

Inlay issues:

These must have been on the edge of the barrel when the edges were lathed and got too close to the machinery. The rim is angled or otherwise chewed on. The 50-centers also had too-dark inlays while the $4s had too light inlays:

The 20Ks had the most issues with misshapen inlays and overcooked inlay colors.

They also had a large number with not enough purple clay to fill the edges. It leaves a "loose tooth" look to the edge. Needless to say these are not put in play.

Most people at my game don't notice the nuance of chip design and quality; many people would be okay with dice chips. It takes true chipes exberts obsessing over little details to notice small flaws. If you look closely enough you may spot the error on this $25:

I think I just had a seizure.

Wow. Just "Wow"!

Amazing set. Pretty sure I've not seen some of these chips before. Spectacular!

One of the best from one of the best. Mark you have at least 3 sets that every time I see them I think, "This has to be my favorite custom set of all time." This is definitely one of them.

King of the Customs! Always love your posts, chips and photography.

No quarters?
That was actually the next thing I wanted to order, but BCC shut down without warning so I never made that order. I don't know why I didn't get them earlier except that I had a bunch of quarters for the Silver Dust set and figured that was good enough (but it's never "enough" for addicts, amirite? (y))

Edit: the above sounded like a gripe when I have nothing really to gripe about. BCC said they wanted to get out of the retail for a while and actually did, temporarily. Then they released the TRK colors and accepted another batch of retail orders. They took retail orders for a lot longer than expected and I'm grateful for the chips I got from them. It just would have been great if there had been a "last call", so to speak.

Sweet goodness. If I close my eyes and wake up in 2017, this will have made 2016 worth it.

I love the clean spot punches on these BCCs. CPC doesn't tend to come close with such uniform, pretty spots. Really great.

I wish I had more BCC sample sets. I only have a couple. Got into chipping a bit late and missed out on loads of great sets!

I may change my name to Huntley and move to Lakewood just so I can tell people I am associated with this chip set...

Just absolutely incredible. Wow.

Happy New Year, Mark! @toad94 is the GOAT of the PCF forum. Others may try, but there can only be one who is the Greatest. Thanks for the pr0n.

How did I let you escape from the Rumble with that chip? It is an error chip! @toad94

There are about ten of those with mismatched spots. I don't think I separated all of them from the ones I brought so you may want to check yours, too. (y)

Now I'm blushing. :)

Thank you for the kind words, everybody!

I have 3 error Rumble Bounties from the rack I ordered. You are welcome to one of them. Happy New Year!

I agree w/what others have said - he's the GOAT, and this is indeed my favorite custom set ever. @toad94, if there's anything I can do to get written into your will, just let me know.

BCC shut down without warning
Fuckers. Every time I see a dope BCC custom set, I get a little angry that they're not still around and I can't order my own. It's nothing but jealousy, really, but I'm glad that they at least sold to the home/retail market for a while so that we can see sets like this.

I'm going to assume that these make the final list for HOF voting this year; and when they do, they have my vote.
