Cuckoo bird: Three hole cards; you discard one upon seeing the flop.
The remaining two are BOTH obligatory to use.
You could see it as 3-card Omaha switching to 2-card Omaha on the flop. A great lot less bloody, so NL.

Ah! We call that Pineapple.
We also play Atomic Pineapple Double board bombpots:
5 cards, two boards, ditch a card on the flop, then turn, then river.

Had the biggest pots ever recorded with that variant...

From what I know, Pineapple (plain, Crazy, Ludicrous etc), whenever you discard the 3d hole card, continues to play like TX Hold'em.
Cuckoo requires BOTH remaining hole cards to be used.

I thought the Blood Orange Margaritas were great even tho I've never tried the grail version that everyone talks about. Thanks for being a great weekly host! I keep going further down the rabbit hole. Hotdogs were actually really good.

.25/.50 cash game. Group continues to prefer cash game over tourneys.

Desjgn cards suffered its first casualty. Didn’t get to take a pic but the Ace had a crease in the middle of the card.

Last nights tourney. T100 20k starting stacks.

Had another fun Saturday evening poker mixed game. It starts with dinner paid for from the last games biggest winners. Steaks with some grilled veggies on the menu!

Then we get to the cash game. I started off well winning a few nice hands and built my stack up.

That was until we got to the round of derailment where one player hit his board perfectly and the final discards left him as the only surviving board. Sucks because I had really strong hands on the boards that died.

On one hand, two boards had a 2 on the river, leaving the middle board where he had a straight flush.

Later on, in another derailment hand all boards river a 2 so it's ultimate high scooping. He has quad 10s to win it all.

More random photos including the winner's stack. A guy to my left also came in 2nd with a stack close to the top winner's. They both built up off one buy in.

I always split pot between the boards. Is it more common to do ultimate high when they all stay? Wasn't aware with this rule/variation.

Depends on which way your group wants to play it. Our group loves carnage so the ultimate high rule works well. It's also why we prefer Icelandic Scarney where no cards = you lose. We haven't gotten to the level of doing shuffle or kill variants yet..
