Breakdown for 1 table quick SNG no blinds (5 Viewers)

Looking for a breakdown for an easily managed 1 table SNG turbo setup.

• Likely a ton of rusty or newish players, so easily utilized stacks.
• Looking for something like 30-45 minute games.
• No blinds to manage. Is that a possible thing? Or if it would be absolutely necessary, 1 or 2 sizeable jumps that don’t require color ups.

Situation (in case there’s a better way to go about this):
Kicking off a local, purely social parents night. Everyone is interested, but no clue if we’d end up with 5 or 20+ day of.

To keep it casual, feedback was to do $10 (maaayyyyyyybe $20) quick tourneys. We’re assuming we’ll have just enough for 2 tables, so when people get knocked out they can chill and drink and wait, OR I’ll have a 3rd table set ready to go. So losers from first 2 tables can kick up a new game. And so on and so forth. This way noones bored, limited wait time, everyone can get a few games in, and everyone’s organically mixed with new players diff than their previous table.

I've never done anything without blinds, but one game used to do T2000 (8/8/2) turbos with 10m levels. They usually lasted 30-40m.

I figure there might be pushback there which I’m fine with if they’re a requirement.

But would still be hoping for something simple enough that no color ups or any mgmt needed.

I thought so too, but just chatting at a practice yesterday peeps were way more receptive (read familiar) with tourney.

It’s truly truly just for social, so I’d hate for first time to be dealing with table bully’s, any emotion tied to winning or losing, etc. that all seem much more possible with cash vs. t.

Back in high school before the money maker boom we would do everyone starts with 25 chips. They’re all worth the same value. Blinds started at 1-1 and they went up every time someone got knocked out.

If they are more receptive to tournaments does that mean they just are aware of the concept of being knocked out? Because the main difference in tourneys vs cash is that tourneys have knockouts and increasing blinds.

So if they are expecting knockouts but not blinds, you could just prepare them beforehand and explain why increasing blinds is necessary for a tournament to end. That should help pushback on the day off and it will get the most casual people starting to think of a strategy around that.

Also, if you want to make it as social as possible, absolutely go with $10 the first time around. If people love it and want to raise the stakes, then do it, but I'm positive you will scare some people away going for a higher buy in.

What I’m suggesting I think should work absolutely perfect for what you’re trying to do. I think we may even started with 20 chips.

We would rattle off two or three tournaments and under an hour and a half.

If you want this to have any legs and grow into a game at one point, you have to teach the basic Structure of blinds. But making every Chip one denomination will make it much easier and simple. I promise you what I suggested was amazing back in the day. and there’s no clock to worry about the blinds just go up every time someone’s knocked out.

Yep I like this if it’s mandatory to not have blinds.

We do this every year at family Christmas dinner. Break out the dice chips, give everyone 30 and start with 1-2 blinds. Play "a chip is a chip" (no $ value). Usually have 2 tables and raise blinds after each knockout. We have everyone from 12yrs - 65yrs and everyone puts in $1-$2 and pay top 3. Can usually get in 2-3 tournaments. Everyone has a great time..

Just to keep everything clean and easy and breezy (which was the whole goal), I'm just gonna go with the Booyah. It makes sense for what we're looking for and as long as there's just 1 person at the table with remote idea of wtf is going on, they shouldn't ever need me.

So realistically I'm just looking at about 5 racks of one chip to preset 3 tables of 6-8 stacks of 20 or 25. I appreciate everyone that answered the thread, this was nice.

You could always make sure everyone is deep enough and they basically play against a clock versus a chip stack where they get eliminated. Whoever has the most chips at the end of 45 minutes, walks away with the winnings for that table ($10 entry per table per person and they play for 45/60 mins). At the end of the clock new people rotate in and/or players go to a new table and buy in for $10 on that table and play for 45/60 mins.
