Working on a Vegas House mold set that will likely move to a Vegas mixed set due to the price/scarcity of $25 & $100 chips.

Was planning on relabeling my resort world $2 chips as 25 cent chip for a .25/.50 game that can play up to $1/$2. I know many here would recommend going with a 50 cent chip and play .50/.50.

I was planning on adding another rack of resort world $2 to have 200-.25, 200-$1, 200-$5, but know that tracking down another near mint rack of RW $2 will be tough.

Is there any reason I shouldn’t relabel my one rack as 50 cent chip vs 25 cent?

The 25 cent chip would look more like the $2 from a numerical standpoint, and putting more chips on the table is always fun, but going with 50 cent chip might mean I don’t need a second rack for a single table game.

Any other things I should consider?

It’s mainly dependent on the preferences of your player group: if they’re good with having 50¢/50¢ blinds instead of 25¢/50¢ blinds and you’re sticking with a $50—$100 buy-in, then simplify and go with a rack of 50¢ chips.

The main consideration for having two racks of 25¢ chips would be to spread 25¢/25¢ blinds if you’re introducing new games or circus games and your players would be more comfortable with lower stakes in those situations.

Good point. Normally I’d say $50+ buy ins would be the case 100% of the time but would be nice to have the option for $25 buy ins if we had family in town and want to play a friendly game with new players.

Personally, I would find a different frac that has the same size label as the Mandalay and Caesars, like maybe the solid off white Tropicana $1.

I see what you’re saying about the inlay size. I like the Tropicana idea just unsure how often those come up for sale. Something for me to consider if I ever see a rack or two up for sale.
