I have 1100 Apache Poker Majestic poker chips that I want to get rid of to get a new set, I want to roll the sale money into a new set. How much do you think I should ask for the entire set? not really looking to split. There are lightly used and well kept.

40% of what you paid for them, if you want to move them...maybe less than that.

Anyone can buy a brand new set, in the exact breakdown they want, for the price you paid.

I think 40% is somewhat steep, I would probably start at 65% and work from there. I'm going to guess you paid somewhere in the $550-$600 shipped to you, starting at $400 shipped sounds fair.

What's you breakdown? Is yours a cash or tournament set? How many of each denom do you have?

I think I am going to list it for 450 and say I am open to offers. I have a cash set. I actually have 1200 chips. I think its a perfect breakdown for a home game. We play 25c-50c.

I'm not being critical, but a perfect breakdown for you is not perfect for everyone.

We also play 25¢/50¢. IMO, that is too many fracs, I'd never use the $10 chips, too many $25s , too many $100s and we'd never use the $500s.

By my count, I'd be buying 400-500 chips (out of 1200) that I'd never use. it might be cheaper to buy my perfect breakdown from Apache at full price. That's why I said you're not likely to get more than 40% of your original purchase price.

Agree that the $10 chip is 100 chips that 99.9% of the people on this forum will never use. Aside from that the breakdown is pretty good. I agree with @FordPickup92 about the auction, might be the best way to go.

I'd be interested in part of that set, probably 100 x 25¢, and all of the $1 and $5. That would probably make the rest of the set difficult to sell but just throwing it out there.

If only 25/50, it doesn't make much sense to have many 100 (especially not with 200 25 already) unless your games get very deep, and certainly not any 500 chips. Perfect breakdown would probably vary quite a bit depending on who you ask, some like lots and lots of chips on the table (f.ex tons of 5), while others prefer more efficient breakdowns. Not sure I see the point of the 10 chip unless you are skipping the 1 & 5 dollar chips and doing some alternate progression like 25c-2-10-50.

Be open to splits. It’s not hard to print two+ labels if you are already printing one.

If a player buys in for 100bb. That gives you 565 buy-ins. Seems like there is enough to split.

I would grade this breakdown a B-. Definitely far from perfect, but there are enough pros where it's useable and should still garner interest.

Cons first, 90% of PCF buyers will not be interested in the tens, and for your stakes you very much overbought on twenty-fives and up.

The best pro on this breakdown is there are definitely enough quarters, singles, and fives for a good single table set, and a buyer could add a couple racks of singles and fives to make this a good two-table set. So I think even with calling this a B- breakdown, there would be interest.

Regarding splits I don't think there are enough singles to make that work. I can't imagine anyone interested in this set wanting fewer than the 200 singles you have.

Bottom line, I think an auction is the fairest way to get the market price. Starting around $300 will probably net you the best result.

I didn’t mean split in half. There are extra racks in this set that do not add value to a buyer.
Someone else may have interest in a single rack of 10s, 25s or 100/500.

I appreciate everyones feedback. Seems like yall are very passionate about breakdowns lol. I am not going to pretend I have the perfect breakdown of chips. I bought what I wanted. And everyone is freaking about the 10 dollar chips. I didn't like the 25c Majestics so i bought the 10 dollar blue chips and relabeled them as 25c with gear labels. I relabed 200 and I have 100 extra 10s because I bought a large set off someone else who had them. I also got the 100s and 500s for a smaller game where I use the 5 dollar chips as cents and the 100s and 500s are 1 and 5 dollars. Thank you for your help!

My intent was just to explain what PCF buyers are looking for, and if you would be surprised that you are going to taking this much of a haircut selling used.

I imagine there will be interest like I said. Sounds like you may already have some .

Having reviewed the marketplace for recent sold posts I think that's a pretty good price point for these. It looks like sales are being made on these with an ask of 50-55/rack. (Don't know about private negotiations though of course.)

You would be coming in around 40/rack if you sell 1200 for $450.
