Anyone coming to town this weekend or next week for WSOP in Austin at TCH? Would love to meet up and hang out if anyone is.

I've avoided it so far. Every single tournament is unlimited re-entry, no freezeout or limited re-entry options (well, maybe the main, but that's still multi-flight and multi-re-entry just not unlimited re-entry but I think you can probably fire 6 or more bullets at it)

The cash game wait times are bonkers, saw lists with 60-80 people waiting, not to mention the parking situation. I checked Atlas and saw there were 3 new reviews of the room, glowing reviews of course, and all three mentioned a very specific employee by name, touting his praises, blah blah blah. Just seemed overly obvious that TCH staff were putting those on there to pump up the reviews.

Would be interested to hear how your experience is if you go.

I haven't gone because the wait lines are indeed bonkers! I have a couple of other friends are are frequently there and they said yes, the wait is terrible, parking is horrible (they even blocked off a section of the parking lot to make it valet only). They do say the games are good if you get on the table. Maybe go mid/late afternoon and get on the list and eat while you wait if you do go.

I've been watching how busy the place gets on PokerAtlas as well which kept me away for now. I can only imagine how busy Lodge would have been if they were still open.

What's really funny is there's tons of other poker clubs in the market that are pretty much dead with little to no business while this is going on. If they were smart, they would've seen the potential to siphon some business from those wait lists and done marketing and specials to draw in people who didn't want to be dealing with the parking headaches and 4 hour long waits to get a seat

For all we know, half of the wait list could be "Spy" send from the Texas Police :p

That will also explain why they don't want to try out other emptier Poker Room as well

I would think this is exactly what a professional poker player would want? Tons of players and action…

I hate unlimited re-entry tournaments with a passion. For the cash games, you either have to get there really early and lock up a seat (and potentially be stuck with lots of other grinders for hours) or wait hours later as the lists were getting 50+ players deep with only a couple of PLO tables running

I don't know how they handle splitting tables between the tournaments and cash games, but Friday night they had 5 1/2/5 PLO tables running according to poker atlas and even a 5/5/10 PLO game running. Still not enough cash game tables overall but that's more PLO tables than they normally run. The wait must have been terrible, so thankfully we have our weekly home games instead. More donkeys at our home game too lol.

Yeah, later at night they got more games as tourney tables broke it looked like.

Guy I know finished 34th out of 2,562 players in the $600 Mini-Main and got a whopping 8x payout (provided he was only in for 1 bullet). Seems pretty cruddy to go that deep for such a low return

They didn’t expect it to be this busy during the WSOP?

I mean, they built a 46-table room and didn't make sure to have 500+ parking spots, then partnered with the WSOP and expanded inside to hold many more tables, and decided to cordon off their limited parking spaces and force players to pay for valet service (I think it's $20?) or park at a few offsite lots and take a shuttle in.

They also launched an online poker room and named it...........HIJACK Poker.

But what do I know? They have multiple millions and I don't.

One of my friends just posted that TCH is short on dealers and looking for more. They are positively slammed. His post was talking about 12-15 hour days for dealers as well.
That is correct unfortunately. I've done 11,13,13,11 hour days. And each day I was on the eo list. Haha.
