Hi all,

Relatively new to PCF. Lurked for a couple months and decided to join the community!

I got interested in buying a set of decent chips about 15 years ago while setting up a poker tournament for my coworkers. Work and family got busy and poker chips took a back seat. All I had from back then were a good number of dice chips.

Now that I’ve been semi-retired for 6-7 years, I’m back looking into getting a decent set. Been reading a lot and watching lots of YouTube videos.

I have recently acquired a set of Milano chips to use for travel and casual poker nights at my house.

I’ve always been drawn to the WTHC set from back when I was looking. So, I’ve just recently bought an incomplete set of T25 WTHC needing to be filled out.

Planning to also acquire a set of casino chips for cash game with lower denoms.

Hope to find some chips here and find lots of info to help me throughout my chipping journey.

I am also drawn to the Paulson Pharaoh set’s colors. Not sure yet if I will try to pull together a set.

Chips definitely cost a lot more nowadays as compared to 15 years ago when I was looking.

Welcome!

Yes, some chip prices have 10x'd since then.

You probably know this if you bought some WTHC chips recently, or maybe you got lucky and bought them very inexpensively. ;)

Yes! I regret not just buying something back when I was looking years ago!

I was somewhat lucky that I found someone nearby selling the incomplete set (350 chips) and he was kind and reasonable enough to lower his asking price closer to what some are valuing WTHC chips here. While not exactly as low as what members here value them at but close enough that I only paid a couple hundred above it for the set. I didn’t have the heart to talk him all the way down to the price range that is deemed to be reasonable here. His original asking price was closer to eBay prices tho. So, I count that as a win!

Thanks for the welcome!

The question I have is whether to wait for the other missing pieces for my set to show up in the classifieds here or would I have to get them from eBay at those high prices…

I was actually seriously considering buying your 400 chip set of ultimatebet on eBay. Assuming you’re the same person with the same handle. I like the colors on that set.

Welcome and best of luck in your quest!
