For Lucky's, I think there's a valid complaint that the frac, $1, and $5 all play in a similar color range and don't pop as much on their own when in play - especially under warmer/yellow lighting.

That said, two things IMO:
  • When the $25s hit the table, the entire set IMO blossoms and I like the fact that the set looks better over play time.
  • When stakes inevitably move up due to inflation and $1/$1 becomes the norm... watch out.
But yes, wouldn't change them.

If anything, I feel like the Rancho $5 deviates a little too much from the color profile of the rest of the RAs. It is just such an incredibly bold chip, among other chips that have pretty earthy tones. I love it, don’t get me wrong!! But I do feel the Lucky’s hang together better, and the stamps are absolutely amazing. And…the $1s are so awesome. Plenty of sets with white or blue $1s. Lucky’s are my only set with arc $1s!! Love at first sight.

To have a fighting chance imo, the Lucky 1 shouldve been white and the 100 black.
I like a blue dollar and love arc. I would rather the dollar was flipped color wise, but it is the "fortune cookie" dollar! I could see that a white/black panda stamped dollar could work, but I'd rather have some color.

The dark navy $100 functions as a black chip and serves the purpose...I appreciate the non-standard dark color choice. I also like charcoal $100s for this same reason.

the $5 on the RA represents the desert sun.. its suppose to explode out of the box and on the table.

black was not selected for any main or edge color because it is considered an UNLUCKY color. arc is more typical in a classic asian color palette.

the $1 was also made personally for me because I love the Sands arc dollar but don't have the patience to hunt them down in the wild. so I made my own version.. you're welcome!

Of all the sets I have owned and gotten into play the Lucky's have had the most enjoyment for everyone.

The arc yellow 1 is fantastic on the table and breaks the norm of a white or blue 1.

The different stamps add to the fun nature of the chip and always bring a lot of compliments and close viewing of the chips.

It's a very unique one of a kind set which is why it gets my vote.

This thread needs more pictures of stacks to make a more accurate judgement lol

This thread needed that picture a WEEK AGO.

Nice stack though. You interested in bringing your Lucky’s as a guest set to DiD one of the days and I’ll bring a different set?

Also, this was the message I sent to Jim after mine arrived:

Jim, the chips arrived. This was a “risky” set that turned out absolutely amazing. As things settle and the set gets digested more, I predict it will become one of the more coveted sets out there. It’s edgy and bucks the preconceived standards about what works and what is good in the hobby.
