Pretty much all 1989 Dunes golf course chips were saved from destruction. I don’t think anyone harvested these at face.

Indeed I’ve never heard anyone harvest $5k chips and above at face

I’ve just always assumed that whoever was working salvage or cleanup or whatever, took those bags of chips straight to Spinettis - profit for everybody!
