Things Kids Today Will Never Understand (3 Viewers)

 :ROFLMAO: Tell me you don't have kids without saying you don't have kids...

They'd surprise you. They still do kids things like coming back from playing outside with road rash because the 2020 version of the big wheel goes 10mph and they tried to jump a curb.

I'll give you the cassette tape though. They wouldn't know what the hell that is. Much like if someone showed me an 8-track as a kid.

**source: My family room currently is torn apart with a giant fort made out of couch cushions and blankets.

Haha some of this is easy for us 60’s people. If it’s made out of plastic we have been around when it was invented or introduced so we know what it is.
If it’s metal or wood we know too because there was only like 10 things in the world back then.

Blockbuster. You actually drove to the store to get a movie. Maybe they had what you wanted. If not you just grabbed whatever and watched Total Recall for the 19th time because you were just gonna pause it at the scene with the chick with three tits. Again.

God I dint know how many times I’ve seen family’s now in restaurants that have 3-4 kids under 10 and every kid has a pad that they don’t even look up from. It would be neat and quiet except for the parent asking the three year old constantly what they want, reading the entire menu to them like they are understand anything past the “chicken nugget” they have been conditioned to.

Sorry, my three year olds got what I ordered for them.

Drives me insane. I have no kids, but I have nieces and nephews and they are being turned into mindless robots who only eat McDonald's.

Yup. F*ck those parents with screens at restaurants.

It’s almost as though old adults who no longer have young children haven’t (with votes and money) almost entirely taken away third locations for children and young families, where they would typically learn how and be accustomed to interacting in those social situations like eating out.

Let’s let our entire infrastructure crumble, to where every bridge is failing so that meaningful city and town planning gets pushed aside (sidewalks, parks, trees, fugheddaboutit).

Parks and rec programs across the board have grown to rely extraordinarily on special taxes, private donations, etc. due to decreased funding year of year, especially in areas of high concentrated youth populations.

Wanna see how much “people who grew up in the 70s” care about playing outside? Go look up voting statistics for folks their age on any of your local and state initiatives for things like skateparks.

It’s great when everyone was a kid they were taught to eat healthy and how to act, it’s too bad though we weren’t taught empathy and social responsibility.

*This unnecessary rant brought to you by a parent actively swimming upstream trying for better foods in schools and more local active programs in another town with a large elderly population, whom continue to ask why their money should go towards youth when they don’t have young kids*

Edit - but for reals, if you’re someone that sees this and has free time and wants to feel good but isn’t someone to march for a cause or too anxious to volunteer a soup kitchen or would find picking up trash on the side of a road boring, shoot an email to or go find your local town hall/p&r head. I guarantee if you have a passion you wanna share (rc racing, frisbee golf, paper plane competitions, or whatever), you can put together a program. It’s a fantastic way to mix your passion with volunteerism, won’t even feel like you’re donating time!

For a better society in the future.

Why should my money go to bridges when I don’t even have a boat? Make those boat people pay for the privilege of riding them under roads
Why do my tax dollars provide bike lanes when I don’t even own a bike! And don’t get me started on those sidewalks on the highway.

lol remote was 50 ft phone cord
There is one functioning in my parents house in the basement next to dad's workbench.
I gave it a try, and it took minutes, not seconds, to make a call watching that damn rotary dial clickclickclick back and forth 16x
I forgot about that because that used to be 'normal'.

I delivered papers in an apartment complex. One dude was chronically behind on paying. I knocked and knocked and knocked but no one answered. I left a paper and went to the second floor to deliver/collect.

That fucker came out and snatched the paper. He couldn't even wait until I went to the next building to grab his newspaper.

I'm still mad more than 40 years later.
