WSOP has rule 126b in the hand for hand section which states.
There isn't an equivalent mention of what to do when players are not hand for hand. For example, how is rank awarded at a five handed final table with five players all-in. Obviously, the best hand gets first place since they end up with all remain chips in play. What happens with ranking 2 through 5?
The TDA rules seem to be silent on this topic. Did I miss something in the TDA rules?
My local cardroom applies the WSOP rule. These small local tournaments never go hand for hand so that's not a factor.
One can imagine that final rankings might be awarded by the strength of hands tabled. I haven't seen this personally, but I have only played in half a dozen rooms.

If two or more Participants are eliminated during the same hand at the same table, the Participant(s) who began the hand with the highest chip count will receive the higher place finish.
