Hi everyone,

I’ve been running home game tournaments for a while using T25 as the base (10,000 starting stack). I’m now considering occasionally switching things up with a “high roller” style tournament for example using a T25K base. Just to add some variety and potentially end up playing for stacks in the millions.

I was thinking to use these denoms

25.000
100.000
250.000
500.000
1.000.000

Anyone who uses these denoms? Please share your experiences.

Is this something you do in your home games? Do you think players generally enjoy this kind of format, or is it better to stick with a consistent structure like T25?

If you do mix it up, what base do you use for your high roller events? Do you run them regularly or just as a special occasion?

Curious to hear your thoughts!

Could be interesting to get some different chips out on the table, but to me it just looks like T25 with extra zeros...
Maybe adding in some variety to the tournament format or mix in a cash game could help keep it fresh.

Yeah, you are right. Might be better to add a 50k chips as base

250,000 seems a little redundant, kind of like a 10 in a cash set. Its like having a 250 chip in a tournament. Its fine, just kinda awkward. Also you can use your 5ks as early round chips. It could be a novelty that the normally highest chip is suddenly the first color up. That would be kind of akin to a T5 though.

Our high rollers used more chips in the starting stack, with 5k-25k-100k denominations; it ended with 100k and some 500k in play.

I have a 1000 chips in my T25 chipset and I was looking for al second set of this chip set (look at the pictures). But I wanted it to have another purpose then my standard set. So that got me thinking.

An occasional high roller tournament seemed kinda Fun. But I have no clue how many of each chip I would need. Since I don't have the biggest budget I wanted to go for a 500 chip set.

But what denoms...
