What design of cards should we make next? (34 Viewers)

IMO. Likely need a survey in terms of priorities, as those that are happy can be silent (e.g. me) and those that want changes voices are more seen.

Question thoughts:
  • More back colors of existing designs
  • Bridge vs Poker
  • More back art
  • 4 color vs 2 color
  • Adjustments to font colors (e.g. lighter reds)
  • Adjustments to face card art
  • Adjustments to font size/index
Etc.. Ask on strongly desire, desire, neutral, dislike, strongly dislike for each change. Then have people rank priorities (e.g. most important to least important for purchase).

I'm dumb in online research tools, but would be good to see if we ever got there.

I never forget that an elephant is a mouse designed by a committee. Not that there’s anything wrong with elephants.

Count me as one of the silently satisfied.

The last 2 Pro Series runs; Bridge Teal/Purple & Bridge Red/Blue (and i suspect the yet to arrive 3rd new run of Poker Red/Gray) have been just about perfect.

My only suggestion would be for more back colors & possibly a run with the arrowhead back design (though the circle back design is killer), otherwise great job done by all on these cards, feel & handling are top-notch & the pricing is just fantastic.

Am I the only one that misses the font from the first two runs? Once the 5's and 9's were fixed on the second run, I thought they looked great.

My vote is for the stock of the most recent Pro series with the blue/green bridge font. Just instead, 2-10's and aces have the cream colored box instead of the J, Q, K. That's the ticket.

I like the idea of different back designs not just colors maybe a logo or emblem... Anchor, Gorilla, snake, Lion, Baldeagle, crown, a symbol I dunno just thinking out loud. Obviously not these designs below ...but just tossing out a few stolen internet pics to get people thinking.. Maybe let PCFers have a contest for back poker deck design then do a vote.. maybe top two designs will be the next two group buys.. Or Justin you pick the top few designs you like not a vote... Winners get 5 free decks.

I second all this, but Poker size. :)

Having bought 50+ Broken Arrow decks in both poker and bridge sizes, I prefer the jumbo index. Easier to read, especially for us old folks. :)

  • Yes, more back colors of circlebacks
  • Bridge
  • Circlebacks are the nuts...other clean geometric designs are fine too
  • I personally like 4-color, but recognize it would be harder to move 400 setups
  • Professional series colors/fonts are perfect for me...open to other face card art
  • Re: index size...to me the Professional series indexes are jumbo height and blackjack width...perfect in general, but a regular index would still get a purchase from me
Bottom line for me, I will buy a good amount of any additional circleback Professional series bridge setups.

Others I would buy heavy on:
- Bridge 4-color Professional series
- Bridge Professional series with other nice geometric backs that are not red/black or red/blue...court cards can be tweaked or not
- Bridge regular index...prefer the red of the Professional series

I would likely get a setup or two of most anything that gets made, but stuff above is double digit orders. I really want more circlebacks, so I'm fine with staying on that train for at least one more iteration.

I am right there with @TheBigTater, I think the recent cards have been great but I would love to see a return of the arrowhead backs again with the updated jumbo pips and artwork!

Yeah, I also love the arrowhead back. Only main concern is it's unidirectional and no real way to adjust the art and still keep the same feel but make bidirectional/mirrored.. but I likely haven't tried hard enough. :ROFLMAO:

Bidirectional back art is just something IMO that's required for the "professional" moniker.

I like circlebacks but personally would prefer something that is unique and not a copy of something already that exists. That being said, I would kill for artwork similar to Piatnik with a blackjack index.

Yeah, I don't like the unidirectional aspect of the arrowhead backs. I can get behind everything @RocAFella1 said and am down for anything nice looking.

That said, I would still love to get green/maroon-brown whatever circlebacks just because they are so classic pro cardroom/casino to me. I will buy at least 30+ setups of these if they happen.

Color-wise, I like card backs that stand out on the table and contrast to the chip colors. So, red/blue is my absolute least favorite. I am also not a fan of red/black or yellow-gold/black. I want pretty much anything else.

IMO the card indexes are a little too big for my tastes. It's perfect for hold em, but I have noticed a few players peel way too aggressively when playing circus. Reducing that size to a blackjack index (Fournier?) would solve that issue. Piatnik artwork would be killer.

Any luck with new face art and smaller indices?

So you are saying that you prefer something unique.... but want Justin to make artwork/faces that looks like someone elses cards?

I see a lot of people wanting Justin's cards to look like everyones else cards. Personally I like the unique features that tell me these are Broken Arrow cards, Arrowhead AOS, arrowhead backs, the different court card art, odd stylish fonts, etc...

Regular pip size with blackjack index would be my vote!!

Unique but more similar to something that is more classic. I don’t mind the arrowhead but would prefer slightly smaller indices and new artwork for the court cards.

Except the circle backs are a direct rip of KEM.

Loving the compass back jumbo index poker-szie Pros (blue and gold setups). Perhaps compass backs in different color combinations (red & blue; red & black) or maybe a different back design entirely? Also I love full-bleed backs (without the white border), security red for hearts and diamonds, and yellow/cream background for the boxes on the faces.

I usually lurk but I'll add my two cents here to say I love the circle backs, its a simple and elegant design and any other design would just be adding complexity for complexity's sake. I think the inverted circles are straight better, and I'd buy either in any color Justin can make them in (as long as they're bridge size).
The current indices are my favorite of any brand. I played poker and trick taking games over Christmas with at least 30 different people and heard many positive comments on how "readable" a hand is with the big narrow index.
My only criticism is that the face art is a bit amateur. If my players had a bad word to say, its about the goofy looking court cards.
I'd also love a 4-color deck.

Can you do a blue color for the diamonds and green for the hearts similar to what Faded Spade & Copag do for their 4 color decks?

Yes 4 color jumbo - poker size.

@justincarothers
I'm sure this has been considered before, but, any chance to do a group buy of card sets designed per Tina chip logos, such as Stardust Casino, Flamingo or Sahara chip sets??? I'd be in for a dozen each if it could be done?? 🤔
