I've always had dogs, from muts to show dogs. We wanted a Saluki, and we just couldn't source one, so about 3 years ago, we got our first whippit. First meaning we had never had one, not first as in we would sign up for a second.
This is the swiss army knife of pets. He looks like a rat, has a neck like a giraffe, is lazier than a sloth, acts like a spoiled toddler, eats like a vacum cleaner, growls like a mountain lion, doesn't bark, and sits on the couch like a cat. We once had to leave him with a coworker who has 8 cats, he was scared of all of them.

There is a street in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico that has a lot of cats that live there. I carry around a poker chip just in case this situation arises.
