Story:
So I have these Ammo Cans that set up really well for chips.

Not much to this "build" as the cases and tubes fit pretty snug. For shipping or long travel maybe some bubble will help avoid bumps and bruises and that's how they'll show up to you. For around the house just raw-dog it. Each case is VERY strong and heavy, even without chips. I put felt pads on the bottom of each ammo can to protect desktop surfaces from scratches.

I used the 30 cal (small) starting stack tube case weekly for a bit and it's cheeky to reach into an ammo can when someone gets felted and has to "reload." I'm moved onto my tube holder from @ProperPokerPlayer now which is more convenient (no lid to open). There are other more complex builds using Ammo Cans and 3d printing but I don't have the needed equipment for that. It can also fit two tuck boxes on top and probably a small DB somewhere.

I haven't used the 600 chip case for chips but again, it sets up well. It can fit 600 chips in 2x300 layers, 2 setups and dealer button as well (or a few tubes for even MOAR chips).

I can repurpose these ammo cans to a more general use but I think they're just too cool to not use as chip cases. Since I don't really have chips that work thematically for these cans/cases I thought I'd give them away here this, or near this, Veterans day.

I have no idea what the source of these cans are and I've had them for years. Probably bought at "army-navy" store or at a garage sale. I used them in my "Commando Green" (actual color name) Jeep for awhile to keep recovery gear and tools together but moved on to soft bags so they've just been floating around since without purpose. @ammocanman on eBay has all you'd ever need if you want to recreate these builds for your military themed chips (if you don't win mine).

Chips: Military themed chips that I can think of as I sit here are.

Lastly:
This is done in recognition of our veterans and the inclusion and glorification of war and related imagery, particularly as they relate to the games we play these chips with, is not meant to trivialize to the real turmoil our hero's have endured. Thank you for defending our freedom. Your sacrifices are deeply appreciated

Awesome give-away for a great day in honor of all who have risked their lives for the freedoms we enjoy everyday.

A great, unique giveaway. I have a few 600 chip sets that could use that. I don't have any military themed sets. I do have military DB's and seating chips that I can post pictures of.

I served in the USAF from 1987 - 1992. I was a K-9 LEO. I worked drug dogs for most of my 5 years. The only exception was the 12 months I spent in Kunsan, Korea.

My first assignment was Grand Forks AFB, ND. I met my lovely bride at GFAFB. She was also a police officer. She served two years.

I spent an interesting three months in Panama in 88. The jungles down there suck!

I spent 12 months in Kunsan Korea. The rice patties suck!

My last year they sent us back to North Dakota, this time it was Minot AFB.

I loved being a K-9 handler. I didn't love leaving my family. That is why I only did 5 years. Leaving a 9 month old for a year was brutal.

Out.

I served 98-06 in the Navy. Here's a pic of me going through the Panama Canal. This was pre 9/11. Post 9/11 I was holding a rifle and wearing body armor.

And here's a pic of my kid on his first day of school 4 years ago. He will graduate from the Air Force academy in May and continue on the road to being a pilot. Hard to believe 4 years is going that fast.

This is a great giveaway thanks for hosting it. I myself am out, but wanted to show my support and post picture of my two older brothers. One army served in Iraq and one Marine who is no longer with us. My army brother was also commander of the local VFW. I donated some of my racks and tubes to that VFW for their occasional poker tournaments.

Hmmm, Veterans' Day, eh? Well, let's see...

My Welsh mother was a corporal in the British Army when she met my father, an Army lieutenant who was in England preparing for D-Day. They married in January 1946, and strangely enough, I was born in October.

My wife's family is Army through and through. Her father was a major general, killed in 1969. her oldest brother was a Special Forces lieutenant, killed in Nam in early 1970. Her two other brothers also served -- one in Nam and the younger is a retired Army colonel. I always tell people who say something like "Thank you for your service" to me that my wife deserves their thanks a lot more than I do.

As to me, I was drafted in January 1966 and earned an OCS commission in the Ordnance Corps. Went to Germany for a couple of years, where I "owned" all the US Army trains in Europe (including my wife's father's train!) Volunteered for Vietnam, and spent almost two years as a captain there -- five months as a battalion S2/S4, and 18 months commanding a company of 260+ men in the central highlands (II Corps, Pleiku/An Khe/Cha Rang/Qui Nhon). Came home for two years, to an Army that was reducing size and wouldn't send me back to school, so after eight years in, I took my $10K bonus to get out and finished college and grad school.

Wound up spending much of my working career as a computer geek in the bowels of the Pentagon, just not in uniform -- working for MITRE Corp and later the Departments of Defense and Commerce.
