Love for 4 color suits (1 Viewer)

I've used the Copag 4-colors in the past. They were serviceable enough... But not nearly as durable as the faded spade set up that I'm using now. I have yet to have to replace a card after 20+ games. They so far show almost zero signs of wear.

My crew loved Badugi so much I decided to get a four colour deck specifically for that. I could't only find these on Amazon (that were available to me in Oz) so I don't know how good they are. They should arrive next week.

Unfortunately, Faded Spades were going to cost me $100 to ship.

Just recently started using 4 colour decks. We use Copags with jumbo index (have seen regular index 4 colour decks but they don’t look very good imo). Maybe one day they’ll be the norm

here is a comparison i did.
Hard to pick

The art - Faded Spades. The color shades - Copag (green won't get confused with black and blue won't get mistaken for either). FSX is a little too dark with both colors IMO. Anything other than bright light could cause misidentified suits -- which defeats the purpose of 4 color. Thanks for posting because I was wondering about Faded and their colors vs Copag.

Oh and jumbo index or maybe Blackjack index if ever avail (I only recently learned that it exists and is somewhat between the other two sizes).

FWIW, the picture here makes the FSX cards look darker than they are in person. There’s definitely no way anyone would mistake the colors IRL unless they were actually colorblind.

I really like how the court cards are colored to match their suits, as well. You can see from the picture that the Jack is wearing green. The colors of the clothes match the other suits, as well.

That’s nothing against the Copags, though. I haven’t used Copag 4C and I’m sure I’d like them, too, but I prefer the card stock of the FSX to Copags, so I have no real reason to invest in Copag 4C.

If found the Copags were a *lot* less stiff. The FSXes are probably too much so, but I prefer them.

Also that the Copag ink fades/gets scuffed more easily than the FSXes, and is more prone to dings/dents/damaged edges.

The Copags worked fine for me for a long time... I just had to check my decks extra carefully before each session to look for any cards needing replacing. I’ve had two setups of the Faded Spades going since they came out (two games per month) and have yet to replace any cards. I have two more unused as backup, but it may be a long time before I need them.

Also agree that the FSX colors in person are plenty distinct. I feel like the photo is a bit off, possibly because it is taken on a slight angle, or because the light is not even. For example, look at the wood tone next to the Copag boxes vs. the FSX — seems to be dimmer light falling on the Faded Spades:

4 colors, yes. Just more beautifull :) I love blue diamonds. Also we need a vote in here :)

Photo lighting or not, the Full Spade 4 colors have distinctly darker blue and green suits than the Copags.

If they are poker size, I am kind of jealous. Except handling FS cards is a bit dicey (to me) given their extreme thickness and slippery nature. But damn that art is great.

Bought two setups of these, which got positive reviews in another thread:

I am firmly a poker-sized, jumbo index host... But I wanted to test my aversion to bridge size. I've played with plenty of other brands in casinos.

Have not put these 888/Vandas in play yet, but somehow these feel even smaller than normal bridge decks. It must be an optical illusion, but to me they seem tiny.

I do like the four colors, the designs, their weight and texture. Just not sure these are going to overcome my aversion to bridge size.

Please let me know. I think I'm in the same boat.

I got a couple setups in today. They are shockingly good. For reference I mostly use copag, faded spade, and recently picked up some broken arrow cards.
The design is tastefully different but nothing as radical as faded spade. Ooos and Aaas from my players, even the ones who aren't sweet on the faded spade courts.
The texture is very good, just the right amount of slippery. Out of the box I like the way these shuffle the best out of any cards I own.
Pips are decent, index could be described as "blackjack" rather than standard. Overall a surprise how good they are considering the company is more famous for kickstarter controversies than playing cards.

Conclusion: The colors and design are nice, and the stiffness seems about right, but the size still seems off to me.

I’m not going to use these again, going to give them to another host friend, who buys into the bridge size thing.

Is there some reason Copag STILL doesn't have a standard bridge size 4-color? They have jumbo and standard poker size but that Copag standard bridge size is my biggest wish and it's killing me we still don't have one.

I will see if I can get a 4 color art done, but we will have to get to 500 setups to make it a go. We have another bridge size set coming next month but can possibly do it in March-April
This seems like a good place to start.

How many of you guys would be interested in 4 color Broken Arrow Premium deck?

I would absolutely be interested in this if it were poker sized. Unfortunately, I doubt this forum will be able to hit MOQ on something like that.

Out on Poker Sized. :)

I'd be good for a couple bridge size set ups. I'd vote for green and gold backs since copag does red and blue.
