I retired from chipping and don't have a single set I kept actually finished #notachipper

Paying someone to do whatever you're supposed to do to get in line with Gear and whoever does milling.

Off the top of my dome (may be some more) I need:

Adolfo Fracs - need labels. 1 rack may need milled.
Adolfo $1ks - need labels.
Paris Fracs - need labels. 1 rack may need milled.
Paris $1ks - need labels.
IG Fracs - need labels.
Paris $3.50 limit set - need labels.

I just want the labels and milled chips to magically arrive at my PO Box. I'll pay the invoices and send the racks to be milled when you tell me to. No rush, I just want the sets done/playable before putting them up and moving on.

Feel free to respond here or pm.

I think @Gear can do all of this?
I started the process in 2022. But then there were questions on things like should it be laminated and chip size and such, and I'm going through the FAQs trying to determine what the current chips have and yadda yadda yadda.

Lol I just want to pay someone to handle that. Here's the chips, here's what I need, and it's magically done months/years later.

Maybe you're right and I'm over engineering a solution. I guess I can go click on links and look at what I need to do. But then I might just be posting this again in 3 years o_O

Gotcha you need the chips too.

I think if you ship everything you have to gear, he can do everything in his powers to match what you need. I would only trust gear as far as sourcing chips. I’m sure the community will come through. Let me know if I have anything you need.

Oh no I have all the chips sitting here. Once the additional questions came I was like I have no clue, I just want it all to match the other denoms.

I'll contact em. If everyone else does it it can't be that hard. Maybe I just didn't have the time back then with the kids and moving and work.

Just send us an email ([email protected]) and we will do our best to help you out. I mean there’s always going to be some subjective questions, but the rest of it we can try to keep it as straightforward as we can.
I would trust gear to find the best possible label matches for what you need. All you gotta do is send them a sample of the entire set and he will go off those to make sure he can make the closest possible matches. He will likely send you one confirmation to let you know what he’s doing and I’m sure you’ll approve it. Then he’ll just do all the work for you.

Hey!

Reach out to [email protected] and let us know you are going to be engaging our services.
I will be the person you work with first, collecting all the details Gear needs.

So long as you warn us first, we are happy to accept drop shipping and collect up racks until you are ready.
Always make sure anyone shipping us chips has read our shipping FAQ first.
This is to give you the best chance of paying the minimum in fees when chips are crossing the border.

So in situations like this, context is king.

Here is a good template:
"I have <insert set here> and I want to make this <unrelated chip> into a, <insert denomination> for it."

Supply pictures whenever and wherever you can, both of the target chip and of the set it's going with.
That will tell me 90% of what I need to move forward.
There may be a clarification here or there, depending on the situation, but that really does nail most of what Gear needs.
I will likely confirm
  • Quantities if not clear...always talk to me in chip quantities if you can.
  • If the set has faux shapes (IG Fracs) then what shape do YOU want? (If I get a set photo then we will just pick something that doesn't repeat)
  • If the chips are not coming to us for service, I might need to clarify overlabel vs inlay replacement to confirm size and price.

Some considerations when picking target chips:
Florescent colors are tricksy.

If you want a florescent target chip, don't expect any color matching.
If the target chip is florescent I will be asking questions...

We don't make exact copies of casino artwork.
Paris artwork is notorious for a billion decisions...
I promise I have learned to only ask one question at a time. ;)

Amazing. I’m gearing up (cleaning up the basement and piles of chips) and will have something out next week.

You guys are responsive and great, processes seem great. I’m just a lifelong decision paralysis person, lol an ounce of pushback and I’m like okay maybe later.

Just used @Wifey and @Gear for some inlay replacement and labels for milled chips. They are great to work with.

Barrie, just shoot @Wifey a quick email with some context and she'll most likely be able to follow up with really straightforward questions or help you out with the decision. I'm pretty indecisive myself so I get your feeling.. Super happy that I pulled the trigger on milling..

I know guys I know! lol I’m gonna be a big boy and handle it myself with gear.

If I could easily handle basic tasks, I would’ve ordered a round from tchan or bbo. Instead I’m on my way to Boston airport right now to pick up the chipper(s) flying cross country to build me one  :ROFLMAO:
