Big poker fan here and just recently went down the rabbit hole of "creating your own poker chip". Man o man there is a ton of information. This interest started after creating x4 custom cash game sets for my groomsman. The sets were an "8 bit theme ceramic set of 500 Chips" and turned out great. I chose the following denominations:

Pink $5k x 1 = $5000
Yellow $1k x 5 = $5000
Purple $500 x 6 = $3000
Black $100 x 20 = $2000
Green $25 x 48 = $1200
Red $5 x 360 = $1800
White $1 x 60 = $60

Chip set created for SIX players
Ratio 1:10 Example: BUYIN $10 USD = 100 Chips worth
CASHOUT 100 Chips / 10 = $10 USD

Open to all suggestions if you were to do anthing differently for your own cash game set (500 Chip count)

Probably wouldn't grab the top end chips as they may never see the felt, but is nice to have to complete the set and theme.
Does this set play with 1/2 or 1/3 as the blinds? Kind of seeing the vision here, may want some more 1s unless always will be playing 6-handed.

I’m confused. What kind of game is this (cash or tournament)? If cash, what are the stakes (buy in? Blinds or antes)?

You have a very unusual breakdown.

The breakdown is for a 1/3 cash game no antes. I only use the ratio of 1:10 due to my friends not will to play a $300 buy in cash game just yet haha.

I want my friends to truly feel as if they are playing at our local casinos smallest games in the comfort of a house. You may play up to 9 but the set is created for 6 players. Enableing each player to buy in for example $30 USD yielding them 300 worth in chips aka x60 $5 red chips. (ideally taking out 2 red chips and putting in 10 whites per player to give them money for the 1/3 blinds).

Agreed more than likey I would drop a certain amount of reds for whites

I can't imagine why a $300 buy-in game would ever need anything bigger than a $500 chip, especially with only 6 players. Realistically, you would rarely even get the 100 in play. Now if you want to include the big denoms because they're kinda cool to have, then that's fine.

For efficiency, I would do 100/300/80/20. That would cover 27+ buy-ins at $300.

LOL, yougoing to charge $8 for a beer and $12 for a hot dog or nachos? Make them get a players card or pay for parking?

Just kidding, I think it’s always best to play like it’s a casino. Otherwise your players get funky rules in their head and then get angry at the casino when they let people cuss at the table or wait for their change when they get an oversized chip instead of mucking around in the pot.

big fan of that layout, thank you very much. When creating I was forsure trying to provide them some bigger denom chips bc of the "cool" factor. Im usually the splasher at the table and could definitely see the blacks being used but very unlikely for anything higher than that.
