Things That Are Bullsh*t (9 Viewers)

It has been in town, just not in my hands lol. You have nothing to apologize for, typical shipping company bullshit. Thanks for sending early! I’m sure it will turn up tomorrow.
Bet it was your wife making some calls. You should've just given here those presents immediately.

Seems thatFedEx needs to take their own advice

I just got back from a medical call. A lady delivering Amazon packages stumbled, dislocated her knee, and busted up her face pretty good. I know of a car-full of Amazon packages that aren't getting delivered today. I'd be interested in knowing how this gets rectified, but more to my point; a package not getting delivered on time could have legit reasons.

That can happen but my guy yesterday apparently had no issue getting the package checked back into the sorting facility in time for him to knock off for the day, so I am leaning a lot more towards general shipping company and/or driver incompetence or inefficiency as the real reason it was not delivered in a timely manner.

Could be worse, could be USPS and they would never arrive or you would just get boxes of paper @doublebooyah85

Luis is a useless a-hole. And the number of folks in India who probably never want to talk to me again is up to 5.
Just a heads up.. I tried to call the phone number you gave for delivery and it goes to a voicemail that is full. if they call tried calling you they can not get through.

That is my cell number. Just tried calling myself and VM not full. Check my email to you to make sure you have the correct number because I get VM all the time with no issue. Only other thing I can think of is I have DND on after 11 but that should not prevent a VM from being left.

Regardless, Fed Ex has my number multiple times now and the shipment auto pulls up for my number on their caller ID when I call into customer service. The problem is that this bozo was not even attempting to deliver the package, much less attempting, having an issue, and trying to call me about it. Would bet a buy in we are at the end of his route and when he does not make it by 5 he just calls it a day for the rest of his business packages so he can go watch the Cowboys lose. Supv, confirmed to me yesterday their system shows “no attempts” at delivery were made.

CS supervisor escalated and they are supposed to pull it off his truck and put on a different one for today. Even tried to have it upgraded to a.m. delivery but don’t know if that will work.

Not your fault at all but appreciate you keeping tabs on it. Even stayed until 7 at the office yesterday because one of their CS people lied and told me (at 5:17) that Luis was 3 stops away and would arrive in 15-20 minutes. That was uber level bullshit and that call is being investigated by his superior. Really hope that particular POS gets some karmic payback.

New day, will see what bullshit comes my way…lol. Hopefully 3rd time is the charm.

You do hang out on the forum. I mean, you seem to kinda *like* bullshit....

(Hope the chips arrive though.)
I wouldn’t say I “like it“. I just have to deal with it on a daily basis in my profession.

Regardless, this particular bullshit has just come to an end, thank goodness and @TheChipVault !

I saw a news report last night which seemed to be saying that the U.S. has eliminated "de minimis" duties on Canada, meaning that shipments under $800 no longer get a free ride.

(The ostensible reason: A claim that fentanyl shipments ... from Canada... were sneaking in under the $800 exemption. Uh, OK)

This was a network TV report so it was hard to really get a detailed understanding of the change, but maybe that is the underlying cause of the consternation here?
Going through this right now. With the de minimis gone our main shipper Canada Post, has decided to use a 3rd Party app Zonos. We pay the Duty in advance through Zonos, who remits to the American side. Apparently we need to take pics pre package, fill out label, and pay; to use Canada Post.

We can use UPS, who will ship it without going through this, but then the receiver will have the same fee to pay before having the item released.

Ill probably eat it for a couple racks, to get an idea of what is going on, and chipping is a hobby, but it will change things massively for the US if this is how postal mail now enters.

It’s just a couple of forms, same as CONUS shipping overseas.
It's going to be a huge disruptor for people shipping into the US. It'll end up in less shipments, and higher costs.

Can't speak for the rest of the world, but prior to the last year, under Canada US Free Trade agreements I had only paid duty 3x in the last 20 years on purchases.made from the US.

A Rocawear shirt for my wife, paid more than the shirt cost.

A Laguna pond pump from an eBay seller that had a magnet made in Italy; that was shortly after Country of Origin started.

Tiger Palace 43mm couple barrels that exceeded the gift value.

In the last year I have paid on every shipment of chips that I have received. I don't mind as it's normally nominal, and it's a hobby, but for consumers and businesses it's hard to imagine it not being a problem.
