Hey all,

I am in the market for a decent (Under $1k) 1000 piece cash game set. What are the safest sites to buy from? I do want the ability to choose my own denominations. I am partial to the Monte Carlo chip, but am open to suggestions as well. Generally looking for feedback on what are your most trusted online sites to use. I see a set I like on Pokermerchant, but I just can't convince myself that it is a legit site. Thanks in advance!

Group buys on here are great, linked above.

Or thepokerstore.com has some decent options in your price range.

Another great site that many people start at is apachepokerchips.com

Apache has a lot of great options and replica’s of old popular designs/casinos.

Appreciate the feedback!

If you use Justin group buys, you’ll be well-under $1k.

I’m curious why you think you need a 1,000 chip set for a cash game, though.

I currently host a game that uses two tables most of the time (Usually between 10-16 people) and we use a 500 piece set. It isn't set up with denominations for what we use (over 100 of the chips are denominations we'll never use, like $1000 etc.) so we end up using the $.50 chips for $50 which is just tacky imo. Otherwise, we run out of chips during re-buys. I don't think I'll run into that issue with 1000 chips in the right denominations.

Say no more. Got it. I think a Justin group by is what you’re looking for. I have both cards mold Taj Mahals and hybrid Mirage from him. Both great, but the hybrids are the cat’s ass, IMO.

I appreciate your recommendations, I just purchased from pokerstore.com. As long as they arrive in a timely manner, I can use them for my next game.

Which did you end up going with? They are very quick to ship.

Also like that it’s a smaller company based out of TX so cool to support poker lovers.

I saw they were from Dallas, and totally agree with you on the supporting other actual poker fans. That definitely contributed to me buying. I got 1000 pieces of Monte Carlo chips in the denominations I think work best for my game. Love the look of them, and if I need to get more, they are easy to find to add on.

Apologies for my lack of familiarity with local idioms. Is cats ass good or bad?

You were not kidding. They fulfilled the order this morning. If it arrives as advertised, I'll be more than impressed.

They do a great job and offer some good value options. Somewhere on here someone reviewed the cards they have on their which also seem like a decent value.
