Rio wsop Who makes these (1 Viewer)

Has there been any explanation (or even reasonable speculation) about what kind of a lot this guy has, and how he got it?

Here are a few more. I have most of them still in the plastic as I am waiting on racks before removing them.

Tina usually gives a few extra so I have been shuffling them and they shuffle pretty well. There seems to be no spinners (compared to my textured no mold which had tons of spinners). The color seems to be more “matte” finished vs my no mold were more “glossy”. The black is not as dark as my other black no mold chips, but I don’t think I would notice if I was not comparing them directly. Colors look good to me. I do have 1 real 100 Wsop chip and it looks pretty close (other then it being a darker black and the text being crisper). This is about as close as I can get to the real thing (for now).

Tina does sell a hat and cane with an option for a sticker/label insert…but the inner insert area is only 1inch which is smaller than the real chip (1 1/16 inch). Does not sound like a lot, but it can make a big difference in the look. If Tina ever comes out with a 1 1/16inch hat and cane that I can add my own insert…then I will probably be upgrading again .

I actually have another 1,000 chips not pictured here that might go up for sale as the guy that wanted them locally just backed out.
QQ, I see a lot of these up on eBay described as authentic Rio chips. How can you tell if they are reproductions from China as opposed to the real deal?

Shitty colour replication (often) and, mainly, visible injection nipples (always)...

(See below screenshot from some Tinas for an example of said nipples...)

It is pretty easy to tell in person. Obviously someone could post real pictures and then send off fakes…but the second you got the fake, you would know.

The real ones have an inlay to them where the fake (the ones I have) do not..they are just printed on the ceramic chip.

If you are buying from eBay, just make sure they are legit sellers with lots of feedback and when you get them, make sure they are real. If not, report them and get your money back.

The hybrid ceramics have inlays too, but still, as you wrote, super easy to tell the difference between a Paulson and a Tina in person.

Another way to tell (though difficult to the untrained eye, is the edge spots. For compressed clay chips, every edge spot is unique - there are slight variations that form in the manufacturing process. Though this method isn’t very useful if you’re looking at a single chip.
Compare the ceramics posted by @cpac54 (where every edge spot is identical) to these compressed clays.

Reading through the old posts in this thread and I had no idea Tina was at one point putting out an actual THC/RHC style mold. Anyone know if that's still available?
